When you assemble musicians like George Porter, Jr. (The Meters, Runnin’ Parders), John Gros (Papa Grows Funk), Brian Stoltz (Funky Meters), Mark Mullins (Bonerama), Craig Klein (Bonerama), and Terrence Houston (Toubab Krewe, Runnin’ Pardners), it’s going to be a special funk-filled evening. That’s exactly what happened on Thanksgiving Eve in 2011 when George Porter, Jr. assembled a top-shelf funk jam session for the biggest party night in America. That night musical history was made until the early morning hours. While only a few gigs have been played together, the cohesion between these funk legends is strong.
