Basement Critters

Basement Critters is a Belgian metal band. We recorded our debut-EP in the fall of 2015. The group consists of vocalist Thomas Marijsse, drummer Frederik Vanwijmelbeke, guitarists Sven Caes, Glenn Labie and on bassguitar Frederik Declercq . We are inspired by all music styles and a large variety of bands in present and past. Our music is a sort of powerfull crossover metal. We strife to don't lose a certain 'feeling' in our songs by sounding heavy while we're just tuned down half a step and by our vocalist who is very powerfull in expressing understandable lyrics. We don't want to imitate or sound like some other band. Yes off course we have our influences, and what you can hear in our music is that we have a lot of those in a lot of genres, old and new. It's just that the 5 bandmembers have 5 different music listening styles and when we write our songs, all those influences come together in a very nice way. it's like a sort of chemistry. We always write our songs together and that's what makes us who we are. That's why 2 songs are never quite the same with us. Performing live is what we love so much. No matter how small a gig, no matter how few people, we will always give ourselves to the maximum and beyond. Not only because everyone who's involved and puts there trust in us, deserves this, but also because that's just us. So, that's who we are. We're here!
