About Cloudride

While life writes many stories, we like to stick to the constant: Cloudride.
Founded in 2001 in the outskirts of Basel, Cloudride has evolved into a permanent insider tip in the Basel music scene. They sometimes flirt with a smaller breakthrough, tour Europe with an English band, win a support competition, and open for hype bands that no longer exist today. The ingredients: music that can be intimate yet loud, and a great willingness to give it their all.
Meanwhile, relationships break, studies are pursued, work is done, marriages happen, and promotions are lamented. Children are born. Cloudride continues to exist in a stoic calm. Facing life's storms is not only easier together but joyful events are also better celebrated. They continue to do what they do best: play table tennis, stick together, make music.
After a few quieter years, they celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2021 with a spectacular "best of" show at the Sommercasino in Basel. New songs are created, and the older ones - still known by heart - come back to life. With the release of the singles "Good Child" (2021) and "Verything" (2022), they re-enter the scene – both singles premiere on "sounds" on SRF3. Additionally, the older song "Rider" gains new listeners on SRF thanks to a feature in "keep on powdering."
In 2024, they close another circle with "The Verything EP." The collection of five songs, once again produced by Philippe Laffer at Alterna Studios, showcases the band's musical diversity while remaining cohesive. Anthems and hits alternate, and the intensity builds: "This ain't a battlefield." Typical Cloudride! Guitars wail. The bass thumps. Drums rattle. The voice is raised - and how! After all, in 2024, they must defend their status as an insider tip.
