C. Gibbs

C.Gibbs (aka Christian Gibbs) is an American singer-songwriter who has released over 13 albums under monikers such as He Arrived By Helicopter, C. Gibbs, Lucinda Black Bear, Motherwell Johnston and others. His projects have ranged from Indie Rock to Gothic Americana and have been praised in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR NBC News and other notable media. Gibbs began his professional career at age 21 playing guitar for the one hit wonder band Modern English on 4AD records then went on to start Morning Glories , a power pop-punk band with heavy doses of jagged apocalyptic blues. Eventually Gibbs signed a solo deal with Atlantic Record for one album and went on to release 8 more albums. Gibbs also performed in the Tony Award Winning Broadway musical Passing Strange (Stew) and appeared in the Spike Lee film of the same name. He has opened for / shared the stage with Margaret Cho, John Mellencamp, Little Richard, Son Volt, John Doe and many more.
