Fantasia looked beautiful and gave a great performance. She has a bubbly personality and was very energetic. I had been wanting to see her perform for a long time. The only problem I did notice was that I felt the sound was not adjusted properly. When you go to hear someone like Fantasia who has an amazing voice, you don’t want the music to drown her out for the majority of the performance. I felt her vocals should have been raised above the level of music. My mother attended the performance with me and she even mentioned to me before I shared my thoughts, that she wished she could hear her voice better. There were some short sections where Fantasia sang a cappella and you could really appreciate her voice. But for the majority of the time my ear could not relish the nuances one hopes to hear from a great singer. I am not sure if I would want to see another concert at that venue because of that issue.

The show was excellent, and I had a fabulous time. Fantasia to me always put on a great show, I like the Vystar arena also. Parking fees were high but at least there were people working to making some money for themselves since a lot of folks do not want to work these days. Joe was also excellent, I felt overall I got more than my money worth in my ticket cost. even though I had to drive 1.5 hours for the show it was worth it and it was necessary to see FANTASIA!! M.S. Fantasia did a wonderful job and I truly enjoyed the show. I also would like to shout out security for controlling the crowd especially the tall young male with Dreads. I have attended shows at the Chicago Theatre and vowed to never return because of their failure to control the crowd. I sincerely thank the young security guard for his on-going effort to keep the crowd under control because I paid for seats near the stage and I hate when people rush the stage because they truly can do the same!

About Fantasia

North Carolina native Fantasia broke on to the scene in 2004 as the season three winner of Fox’s “American Idol.” Later that year, she released her platinum-selling debut album Free Yourself and became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart to debut at #1 with her first single, “I Believe." Fantasia’s 2006 eponymous second album featured the #1 R&B single, “When I See U,” and reached gold status. In 2010, Fantasia released the critically acclaimed Back To Me, which featured the hit single “Bittersweet” that earned her first ever Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Song. In 2013, Fantasia released her fourth studio album, Side Effects of You which debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B Albums Chart and #2 on the Billboard Top 200. On July 29, 2016, Fantasia released her fifth studio album, The Definition Of…. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s R&B chart, #2 on the Overall Albums and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and #6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The high chart entries mark Fantasia’s third consecutive #1 R&B album debut, her fourth top ten debut on the Billboard 200, and earned her another Grammy nomination for “Best Traditional R&B Performance.” In 2017, Fantasia released her first holiday album, Christmas After Midnight.
