MIND MERCHANT is an Original Rock/Metal Band based in Chicago, IL consisting of 5 seasoned and talented musicians (Steve Crandall-Lead Vocalist, Mark Cox- Drums, Doug Ehrhardt-Guitars/Vocals, & Kurt Arft-Bass/Vocals) that all have studio recordings, albums, videos and live shows/touring (local, regional, & national) to their credit. The originals they write are a collaborative effort inspired by and drawn from all of their musical influences, old and new, creating and capturing the sound and vibe that has become MIND MERCHANT. From the get go their music has been filled with strong, powerful vocals and visual laden lyrical content. A dual guitar attack that would make Judas Priest proud, and a rhythm section that anchors like the Rock of Gibraltar. Bringing the art of songwriting back with vocal harmonies, guitar solos, hard hitting verses, and big, anthemic choruses. In a very short time, MIND MERCHANT has created a buzz not only locally, but around the world! In 2013, they recorded their first 3 song EP at Cherry Pit Studios, engineered and produced by Eric LaBrosse. Songs "Crash and Burn", "Killer Instinct", & "Pursuit" have all been received well by radio, the internet, and LIVE. Receiving airplay and support from FM stations 95 WIIL ROCK, 103.9 The Fox, and 105.5 The Kat along with various other internet radio stations has placed them in good company with all of the national bands out there today. LIVE, 2013 saw them play support to a whole host of touring acts: TRAPT, THE LAST VEGAS, SAVING ABEL, Ex Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz's RED LAMB, SHADOWS FALL, BLACKLITE DISTRICT. They played WIIL ROCK FEST which included over 20 bands, VOLBEAT, ALL THAT REMAINS, HIM, SOIL, NONPOINT, ART OF DYING to name a few. They also played RIDE FOR DIME Chicago and headlined at the Legendary BRAT STOP. 2014 sees them continuing stronger and better with already have played with acts Psychostick, WILSON, THE LAST VEGAS, & FUEL. There is no end in sight for MIND MERCHANT, only perserverance, determination, and the passion that drives their musical journey.
