About Pete Kennedy

Pete Kennedy is an award winning singer-songwriter from Ireland. Since his debut in 2010 Pete has won international music awards, toured extensively across the US and Europe and built an established, dedicated fan base.

Pete's musical influences stem from his celtic roots upbringing to those of Americana, folk and country songs of the southern U.S. From early idols like The Eagles, Kris Kristofferson and Emmylou Harris to contemporary artists such as Garth Brooks and Rascal Flatts, Pete's influences are evident in his distinctive crossover style.

From feel-good uptempos to reflective story ballads, Pete's music takes his audience on a musical journey through his life and the inspirations behind his songs. His extensive list of musical collaborators include Earl Budd Lee (Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton), Jan Buckingham (Lee Greenwood, Whitney Houston), Beau Fuller (Kristy Lee Cook, Jesse Keith Whitley) and American Idol and Grand Ole Opry star Ayla Brown.

Raised in the Irish countryside with a family of five brothers, Pete Kennedy understands the value of family but has seen hardship at an early age when Pete's father died saving his family from a fire that erupted from his family's locally owned bar. Since then Pete has found his strength through his music and the support of his wife and two daughters. His career gained momentum in 2010 with the release of his debut single 'This Time'. The song was brought to the attention of CMA Nashville's president Lee Williams. Williams was putting together a series of live shows in Nashville for the city's annual CMA Music Festival and invited Pete to be a part of his International Artist Showcase. The success of his Nashville debut and subsequent album release hugely increased Pete's profile and acclaim.

He gained international recognition when he was nominated for Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the BCMA Awards in 2012, winning the album category for 'The Nashville Session Vol.1' at a ceremony in London later that year.

Following his award win and critical acclaim Pete went on to perform two major UK tours with pop icon Neil Sedaka and The Stylistics.

Pete has since been featured on numerous international television shows including Inside Music Row TV, RTE's 'Today Show' and 'Nationwide', NBC4 'More at Midday', and performed at prestigious events such as 'Hollywood Meets Nashville Grammy Viewing Party and Benefit Gala'. He has performed in Nashville during it's annual CMA Festival for four consecutive years including as a CMA-featured artist on the Chevrolet stage. Pete's music and style has also brought a number of endorsement and brand ambassador deals including Bedell Guitars and Corello USA.

Pete’s career has continued to go from strength to strength and in July 2016 he was nominated for Male Artist of the Year at the BCMA awards which takes place in London in October. His January release “On My Way To You” impacted the Top Ten on the Irish Country Music Radio Airplay chart. Pete’s latest music video for “Crazy Country Girl” made it's debut on Showbiz TV (Sky 266). Both singles have received impressive national and international airplay spinning on over 100 radio stations across 25 countries. Pete recently featured on the legendary WSM Opry radio station in Nashville where he announced the release of his brand new album. With the global release of 'The Voyage', which made its debut at number four on the Irish iTunes download charts.

Roll on to 2017, and another major festival "Harvest Country Music Festival" by Aiken Promotions gave Pete another major stage this time in the company of Miranda Lambert, Kip Moore, Dan and Shay, Nathan Carter and many more major stars. In September 2018 Pete returned to Nashville to perform a select number of his own shows in Music City and to write new material for his next project. On his return Kennedy yet again scored, this time in the Publishing world when he secured a publishing deal for his music with AGR/Universal Music Group in Berlin Germany.
