About Jimmy Vivino & Gabe Butterfield present Butterfield Revisited

JIMMY VIVINO PRESENTS BUTTERFIELD REVISITED Gabriel Butterfield is the eldest son of the late, great Chicago Harmonica player Paul Butterfield, Butterfield was the first white Harmonica player to develop a style original and powerful enough to place him in the pantheon of true blues greats! It is impossible to over-estimate the importance of the doors Paul Butterfield opened. His initial recordings from the mid-'60s -- featuring the legendary, racially integrated first edition of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band (Elvin Bishop, Michael Bloomfield, Mark Naftalin, Sam Lay & Jerome Arnold) -- were eclectic, groundbreaking offerings that fused electric blues with rock & roll, psychedelia, jazz, and even (on the classic East-West) Indian classical music. Gabriel Butterfield grew up spending the greater part of his youth traveling on the road with his father on tour. Like his father, Gabriel has found music to be the driving passion of his life. A highly accomplished singer/songwriter, drummer and percussionist in his own right, Gabriel has recorded and toured with several national artists including Sonny Rhodes, Joey Gilmore, Johnny Marshall and Rockin’ Jake, Blues legend Sam Lay, Mark Naftalin and Chris Parker to name a few. He has recently returned to his musical roots and is now residing once again in Woodstock, NY. Jimmy Vivino is the bandleader for the Basic Cable Band as well as Music Director of CONAN. He is a founding member of The Fab Faux and the Levon Helm Band. He wails on the guitar, and is the master of pretty much any instrument you care to name. 2012 marks the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of Paul Butterfield’s passing, Gabriel and Jimmy have handpicked a line-up that is sure to turn heads among music aficionados world wide, to join him on stage and celebrate his father’s music, Joining Gabriel and Jimmy onstage this Summer: Legendary drummer Sam Lay from the original Paul Butterfield Blues Band ( on select dates ) Harp & Vocals: Steve Guyger is considered one of the finest traditional blues harmonica players in the world today Keyboards: Pete Levin has performed and recorded with Annie Lenox, Miles Davies, David Sanborn Robbie Robertson. Bass: Jim Curtin is a former member of the band “Orleans” and an active member of the Woodstock music community. Guitar: Jimmy Eppard was heavily featured on The Band’s final studio album ‘Jubilation” and was a touring/performing member of The Band. “These seasoned musical veterans, have all come together in mutual respect for my father and to honor one of music’s legendary pioneers and influences, of which I am very touched and forever grateful” - Gabriel Butterfield.
