Steve Earle

Legendary solo acoustic set, Steve played for over 90 minutes with two standing ovations and lots of audience participation. At 71 Steve still has amazing finger style dexterity and can hold an auditorium with just his voice and a Martin guitar. Referencing Mance Lipscombe and Lightning Hopkins as well as a great story about Townes Van Zandt we were all well entertained. Steve was supported by Roseanne Reed who played an intricate acoustic 45 minute set and garnered loads of new fans. A great gig!

Loved Steve. He was alone and did a review of his 51 years writing and singing music. He is entertaining in both his humor and songs. And one of a kind. At times, his voice was a little unclear. We had great seats on the ground floor in about row 5. The Northhampton, MA, theater was warm (no air except when they opened the doors at intermission) . There was really no need for an opening act from TX who finger picked his guitar well but his songs were nothing special. Steve said he is writing for Broadway now and there will be news about the show soon.

This one I would give a mediocre okay. Steve was chatty and witty, but it felt a bit forced, like he really wished to be elsewhere. The performance was a bit robotic compared to what I know he is capable of; like he was going through the motions and not truly connecting with the present loyal fanbase that deserved more respect and appreciation. At times he came off as grumpy and self-indulgent with a lack of intimacy with those that keep his career going and his wallet full. He made zero eye contact

Good show with stories from his life. He was very open about his highs and lows and performed solo and acoustic. Great songwriter. I wish he had given more insight into his relationships with Guy Clark and Townes van Zandt. He played bass on Guy’s one and only major tour with a band (to promote “L. A. Freeway”) and he named his son after Townes, but he barely mentioned either.

The venue experienced sound issues early on. They didn't get it right until Steve was about a quarter of the way into his set. But after that, the whole experience was sublime. Steve Earle is not only a great songwriter, but he is a terrific performer and, from what I can tell a really sincere guy. This is the 4th time I have seen him perform, and I will go back each time he comes to Chicago.

I have seen 1000's of shows/concerts throughout my life. But nothing can/will/never come close to Sunday nights performance. I was sooooo blown away and thoroughly enjoyed Steve's show. He was so incredibly personal, warm and completely open. I felt as though I was sitting in a room with Steve telling his life's story. He was so up close and personal! I have been a huge fan of his since early 80's, before Copperhead Road. But the other night just seemed to wrap it up. Hopefully not. I truly feel as though we are personal friends. And pray that will not be the last chance that I get to experience him. And in my dreams, to sit and jam with him! Would be the ultimate!!! Here's to many more encounters. Steve, You Rock! And BTW, I saw him in Asbury hall in Babeville. 6.15.25

There was a 90 minute period before the artist took the stage to eat and drink from a varied and very tasty assortment of foods and beverages. The venue is a beautiful structure in a gorgeous setting. Steve Earle played as advertised - solo and acoustic - for a solid 90 minutes with a two-song encore. It was a most enjoyable experience.

Steve gave a great show. He sang songs from his whole career, which of course, is extensive. He also sang the Jerry Jeff Walker song Mr. Bojangles, one of the best songs ever written. He sang his son's song Harlem River Blues, maybe the emotional tribute of the evening. He ended with Gordon Lightfoot's great song Sundown. Ron Sexsmith came back to play the song with him. What a fitting end to a wonderful concert at Massey Hall in Toronto. Steve talked quite a bit too making for a personal concert which held us all in rapture.

Steve seemed warm, sincere and funny. His presence and his music filled up the stage. and the auditorium. He put on a really good show, not slowing down from the time he hit the stage until he left it. He was very kind to come back on stage for an encore. I was very disappointed that the disruptive couple (wearing white shirts) & who sat down in row 4 at the end of the concert, were not escorted out of the venue. They were talking loudly, ignored requests to be quiet, & only stopped after a fan beside them stood up to address them (not the best move), and Steve noticed the commotion and expertly intervened, ending with, "I remember my first beer too". Steve should not have had to stop singing to handle this and fans should not have had to deal with the ongoing interruption. Concert goers (white shirt couple) should have the respect for others and the performer, to hold their loud conversation until after the concert. But, my question is, "where was SECURITY at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame". I believe that I would want to know that the security problem has been addressed before I would want to return to a concert at the Bluegrass hall of Fame.

Awesome show! The young lady that warmed up for him, Zandi Holup was very good as well, but the sound guys appeared unconcerned about how overmodulated she was—maybe they were aiming for distortion, if so—mission accomplished. Steve, on the other hand was great! Very entertaining, played some of my faves and of course copperhead road, which my wife loves, but he has LOTS of music that’s way better. My Old Friend the Blues, Billy Austin, Jonathan’s Song, among others. If Steve ventures near here again, we are so there dude!

Steve Earle gave us the best show we have ever seen in the mount baker theater. If he is touring in the town near you, I would not miss this opportunity to see a man that could literally bring you to tears with his words and emotions will flow through the night as his music is as deep as his soul.

The concert was excellent. Getting to & getting parked at the venue was a breeze. We chose valet. The seating was a little snug & not very comfortable, sat on row D, four rows from the stage. We understand that Tannehill’s has just started to provide seating for their concerts, hoping they get spacing & comfort issues worked out. It was a nice venue.

SE wss tremendous, living up to exepectations of previous performances. He gives everything, the passion and commitmrnt hr has is self evident. Last time i saw hom he had his band, this yime a one man band and not fot one minute was the band missed ( no disrecpect) It takes guts to.play like yhis snd Stebe had it in bucketd. One small complaint he fid noy play , ' Fort Worth Blues' Pls come back again soon.

Steve is so awesome. There is just no other way to put it. He is such a talent. He puts on a great show and plays great much that he either wrote himself or has paid tribute to, to some one who means so much to him. I love him and his music. If you bring him back, I'll be back too.

Steve Earle and the Dukes began their Jerry Jeff Tour 2022 with the Whitmore Sisters in a rousing, fun, and foot stomping concert last night, giving the crowded Princess Theater in Decatur a night to remember!!!! It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen!!! Thank you, Steve Earle and company AND the Princess Theater!!!

Loved the concert👍🎶The songs were a mix not only from the new Guy album but also So you want to be an Outlaw, Terraplane as well as his classics including The Devils right hand, Copperhead Road and more. The encore includedBilly Austin and as always that one was sung from the heart! Loved every minute of the night, and was glad those nasty clouds did not deliver a down pour !!! Thanks so much to Steve, the Dukes and of course the Mastersons👍🎶

Steve and the band seemed to genuinely be enjoying themselves and sounded great. Hard to believe that classic album is 30 yrs old but they took me right back there. Opening act was quite talented and also played along with Steve during the main set. Loved the between song chatter and spot-on political comments. Looking forward to the upcoming releases. A performance to remember for sure.

Played songs from new album which I haven’t had time to get into yet but also played classics like Johnny Come Lately, Jerusalem and Copperhead Road. At the end he spoke while playing a background piece on guitar- really moving thoughts about his life and the mess we find the world in. But maybe best song of all was a version of Hey Joe, just amazing!

One of the top 5 shows I’ve seen in my lifetime. Steve Earle is a brilliant songwriter and recording artist, but live his songs can breathe. They change into much more than just a carbon copy of the record. Steve Earle has a crack band and half of the 6-piece played multiple instruments. Peddle steel, fiddle, mandolin (acoustic and electric), etc. He puts the money into the show to make sure the songs get what they need and it shows. He told a few stories too, which we enjoyed. Most importantly he sounded great and opened the songs up into these beautiful living, breathing songs. I’ve been a fan since Guitar Town came out when I was 9 and my father played it all the time. He was a 3rd generation coal miner and union man. He loved what Steve sang about and what he stood for too. He passed at 54 and I know he would’ve loved the show. Steve played 3 or 4 songs from that album and a great variety from throughout his considerable catalog. I’ve been a big fan of his records for 3/4 of my life, but this was the first time I’ve seen him live. It will not be the last. Please come back to this venue soon Mr Earle. It was a huge treat for us. Thanks
