Black Jade is a Chinese-American, Los Angeles-based music producer, vocalist, and songwriter with a sonic style that blends electronic, r&b, and world music. She draws inspiration from traditional East Asian music and fuses it with contemporary western hip-hop grooves. Black Jade also holds a PhD in Computer Music from UC San Diego and writes software for synthesizing musical sounds. In alignment with crystal therapy, in which black jade is used to transform negativity into positivity, Black Jade hopes that her music can shift her listeners into a more positive state of mind.
