Derick Banks As a young boy, Dutch DJ/Producer Derick Banks grew up surrounded by music. Growing up in a very musical family with a singing mom and a stepfather who performed with a band, he was touched by rhythm at a young age. Derick knew he also wanted to make music, when he discovered the joy he felt by simply turning on the radio and saw the happiness on the faces of other people. All these musical influences made Derick want to join a brass band, which eventually resulted in his signature drum-inspired music he produces. After Derick Banks started producing music, his skills progressed fast and drew the attention of artists living in Brazil, UK, USA, Spain, France and Germany. This led to him being a producer for other artists signed to labels such as Universal Music, Warner Bros Records and Brand New Live, to only name a few. After gaining experience working for other projects and artists, he decided to start building his own artist profile, which resulted in his impressive debut release “Voodoo” on Copyright Defected. Derick is currently working hard in the studio creating new music and developing his international career. Drums and groove is what he stand for. Whether his inspiration comes from listening to music, making music or even dancing to music, his passion is sparked by all kinds of things which obviously shine through in his energizing performance on stage.
