My wife and I got a twofer at Thursday night's concert. We arrived early enough to enjoy Jon and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen run through sound checks. The concert was amazing and we always look forward to Jon performing!

The event? Just fabulous! Great performance! Venue ? Fabulous too.

Jon Cleary's Funky R & B Revue was amazing, just like last year!! I had a great time listening to not just Jon & the Monster Gents, but all of the special guests. Seeing Al "Carnival Time" Johnson and James Rivers was a treat and a joy. What an honor to see two of New Orleans living legends.

The Fillmore is a fantastic place to see and hear a band. Sound system, sound level and mix were excellent. Lights were fine. Short wait times at the bar. I gave this only 4 stars for the following reasons: this was not a Jon Cleary (or George Porter) show as Bandsintown implied. This was a Galactic show where Jon and George sat in for 3-4 songs each. The Absolute Monster Gentlemen were not part of the program. The warmup act was very solid but nobody announced them and I still don’t know the name of the band. Nobody announced Galactic either; they just wandered onstage and waved. Despite long cheers from the crowd the band did not play an encore so everything wound down before 11 pm. There was an afterparty upstairs that I never saw promoted but might have purchased a ticket to had I known about it. All that said, it was fantastic to see Jon if only for a few songs and can’t wait for him to return to the Bay area with the Gents.

Absolutely amazing gig, the lads put 100% into it. I've never seen a group of musicians gel together so well, and clearly having so much fun playing.

Stunning. What a band too!

An amazing band in a really comfortable venue. Jon brought New Orleans to the Los Angeles crowd. L.A. is filled with people who are horrible audience members but the band was amazing and played on flawlessly. Cheers.
