About Skrol

SKROL is a martial industrial band from Czechia, formed in 1995. It consists of composer and keyboard player Vladimír Hirsch, singer Martina Sanollová and a non performing members and Tom Saivon ( lyrics, additional sounds). The initial stages of the band embodied Slavic melodic and harmonic principles with an added depth of classical music influences. Later, the direction of SKROL’s creation aimed at an integration of this kind of neoclassical music into ambient, noise and industrial structures. The music is based on heavy martial rhythms, symphonic arrangement of main riffs, with volatile melodies of electronics, classical organ, strings and brasses in amorphic noise space. The intense atmosphere is crowned by the ecstatic, passionate and extremely igneous expression of the singer. Skrol is a project where underlying rock song structures are overpowered by angry industrial soundscapes. The band was active between 1996 and 2001, and rejoined again in 2011, with 2 albums published during this long intermission. Skrol has released 6 albums - The Fall Verified (1997), Martyria (1998), Heretical Antiphony (1999), Insomnia Dei (2001), Dances & Marches For The Orphan Age (2005) and New Laws / New Orders (2009).
