About Transpose

~About the Band~ Transpose was started in May, 2006 in Camden County, Georgia. Immediately the band started writing songs for the debut album; crediting post-hardcore/progressive-metal styles as their main influences. Gold certified producer Scott Fravala (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) attended a Transpose show in Jacksonville, Florida and was impressed enough to approach the band and offer them to record the debut album at his studio, VisionSound, in Orange Park, FL. That album, “A Delicate Impact,” was released independently in April, 2008 to positive reviews and impressive sales at shows and on iTunes. The first single from the album, "Only The Dead Go Free," was part of WJAP-Jacksonville radio's rotation throughout the summer of 2008. Transpose toured regionally for three years to promote “A Delicate Impact” and in 2010 the band began writing material for what would become their second album, incorporating more “metal-core” influences as a springboard for taking the Transpose sound into a new direction Transpose’s second album, “Retribution,” was recorded in March, 2011 with producer Paul Lapinksi (who also worked on “A Delicate Impact”) at My Platinum Sound Studio in Jacksonville Beach, FL. The album, a conceptual storyline written by Brian about a broken man’s reaction to infidelity, saw the band experimenting more in the studio. Some of the new sounds include the addition of keyboards, functional samples to help tell the story, and acoustic guitar. In April, 2011 Transpose played a showcase in Jacksonville, FL for TzMR Records out of North Carolina & New York. Owner Bill Trimble invited the band to play a second showcase in Daytona Beach, FL in May, 2011 and offered Transpose a record contract at the conclusion of that showcase. On May 26, 2011 all the signatures and requirements for the contract had been met and Transpose was officially signed to TzMR Records. “Retribution” was released in June, 2011 by the band as well as iTunes and Amazon.com. A cover of Digital Underground’s “Humpty Dance” had been recorded during the sessions and was released as a stand-alone single on iTunes. Transpose has shared the stage with: Mushroomhead, Tub Ring, Future Leaders Of The World, All Thee Above, Crimson City Romance, Methodical, Fed Up, Burnstitch, New Day, Sore Eyes, Name:Bran, Tempest Reign and many others… Transpose is currently playing shows nationally in support of “Retribution”. Transpose is a group of musicians that do not fall into a specific genre and are most definitely NOT contained in a box. With an extremely intense liveshow
