Dana "Queen Latifah" Owens is an American Grammy Award-winning rap artist and singer, and an Academy Award-nominated actress. Latifah started her career beatboxing for the rap group Ladies Fresh. After releasing four rap albums, she released a soul/jazz standards album in 2004 called The Dana Owens Album. In late 2007 she released Trav'lin' Light, filled with more soul/jazz covers including such hits as What Love Has Joined Together, Poetry Man, and How Long (Betcha' Got A Chick On The Side). This album also features the song I Know Where I've Been from the Hairspray soundtrack.
