Great concert! He is among Rock and Roll Royalty. It was an absolute pleasure to see him. The concert seemed like a wonderful visit with an old friend.

So great to see a legend like Roger McGuinn again! It never gets old and I love his stories and how he uses music to bridge his 6 decades career! He is genuine talented and A joy to watch !

I have seen Roger perform numerous times since 1974 in both band and solo formats. There is a good reason that he is cited by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He also has great musical sensibilities and exudes good will. At 83 he was still in fine form and commanded the audience's full attention. He played and told stories for 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. Except for a slightly stiffened gait he did not show his age. I feel lucky to have seen him again, and less than 20 miles from home. The Miller Center is a fine venue provided you do not have seats under the balcony where the sound quality declines quickly. It was a very fine evening.

In the mid 1960's the Byrds burst into the rock music world with two singles, "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!" Both became #1 hits and altered the direction of American popular music. We are indeed fortunate that all these decades later, Roger McGuinn continues to tour and recreate all those classic sounds. Amazingingly, Roger's vocals are as strong as ever, and his shows are full of those one of a kind guitar sounds that vaulted the Byrds into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more than three decades ago. Working with three different guitars and a banjo, Roger's shows take audiences on a musical journey that starts during his youth in the 1950's, moving through the folk era, and finally to the sixties and beyond. Deftly blending stories with his songs, Roger engages his audiences from start to finish. Audience members often find themselves singing along. They are also treated to stories about his musical collaborations with Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Bobby Darin, and so many others. In his autobiography, written decades ago, fellow Byrd David Crosby refererred to Roger as a genius. Time has borne that out. Now in his seventh decade as a professional musician, Roger McGuinn continues to produce sounds that are classic, unique and eloquent. The shows are ever changing and continue to evolve. If Roger McGuinn is performing anywhere near your locaton in the future, you would be well advised to buy a ticket!

It was not powerful as far as the music goes, but couldn't expect much from one guy with a guitar and banjo. the stories were fantastic since Roger McGuinn has played with has played with so many famous musicians.

Roger's extraordinary talent shines through as he captivatingly guides his audience through the fascinating evolution of folk music and his very impressive career, all delivered in the most entertaining way. The standout moment for me was when Roger played two versions of the hit song "Tambourine Man". He demonstrated the difference between where the song started musically and how he was able to creatively rearrange the music transforming the sound that made the song standout and become a lengendary hit. This is a "one man show" in which Roger takes you thru high points of his life & career thru stories and songs. This included backstories of the Byrds songs you know and love. His voice is strong and unchanged, coupled with his incredible guitar playing this a show not to miss.

He told great stories along with every song, was funny and poignant to the era and about all the other artists he has played with. His guitar playing is excellent and his singing was sharp and clear! He is still relevant to what rock is and was. A great evening of entertainment that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Great show, very personal with lots of interesting stories and great music. We love the Armstrong - it's a great venue, easy parking, clean and adequate restrooms and nice for us, 5 minutes from home. Roger's wife manned the sales area where they sold personalized or autographed CDs and a few other things. It was nice to meet her as well. Fans since we were teenagers, we really enjoyed every aspect of this show. We are not joking to say our tombstone is engraved with "to every thing, there is a season."

They contain a blend of stories and songs and reflect the musical journey his life has been. At Waldoboro he alternated between four different instruments. For fans of the Byrds, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Band, the most recognizable sound is that of his signature electric 12-strong Rickenbacker, which he played to back classic Byrds songs such as "Mr. Tambourine Man," My Back Pages," and "So You Want to be a Rock and Roll Star." At Waldoboro Roger had the crowd engaged from start to finish. Roger has a unique talent for getting the audience involved, and encouraged all to sing along on the familiar hits. Accompanied by his banjo, Roger coached the audience to back him with a unique 1-2 clap pattern. I have seen him do this on countless occasions, and the results are often funny as the fans often struggle with such unfamiliar timing. Roger uniquely matches stories and songs reaching all the way back to his first musical adventures as a teenager, and over the course of the evening the audience learned about his evolution as an artist and the unique influences that contributed to his musical growth. It was a great show, and it was amazing to listen to him talk about his life as a guitarist. So many great songs were written and performed by him. I enjoyed every moment.

Ummmm... I did not go to Roger's show. Was not aware of the date until it was too late for me to make arrangements, May go to show in Norwalk CT. I have seen Roger many times, I'm sure the show was great - he always is. I did see Roger last year in Rhode Island.

This was a phenomenal show! His voice and guitar artistry in full display and woven together by his fascinating, detailed and witty narrative of his career and music evolution. Kind of like a Masters class from a most noted Professor! Do not miss this and try to see him in a small, intimate venue.

The Roger McGuinn appearance at the San Juan Community Theatre on Saturday was everything one could want and expect...and then some. Roger took us through his "Back Pages" from a being a young lad wanting his first guitar through his catalogue of work over the decades with the biggest names in rock history. I saw McGuinn a few years ago in Kirkland, WA at a small 400-seat venue. And last night's performance was similar, yet even better. At nearly 80-years of age, the fingers were nimble on the various guitars and banjo, and the voice was excellent as expected. Well worth the money and McGuinn poured his heart and soul into the two-hour performance. Thank you Mr. Tambourine Man!

Roger put on a fantastic performance in an intimate venue. Amazing on the guitar as expected and incredible to hear him live on the Rickenbacker 12 string. He does a great job of mixing storytelling with his music. One would not know he is 79 year’s old!

Roger was very interactive with the audience, encouraging them to sing along. He regaled the stories behind Byrd hits, and was very engaging. He had at least 5 different guitars/banjoes with him, and had great stories about them too. When I last saw him play alone in the mid 1980s, I don’t remember him being as engaging and interesting as he was last night. I’m so glad I gave him another chance!

Not my favorite Byrds album but a really great show. Great harmonies and excellent musicianship . Very real and organic music . Acoustics of the venue were very good.

Awesome! A bucket list concert for me. Wasn’t sure McGuinn and company would play much of the old Byrd’s stuff but they played everything and everything well. Chris Hilliard was outstanding as was Marty Stewart and the Fabulous Superlatives.
