The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Great journey through memory lane and their musicianship and tightness was spot on. Jeff Hanna told some great stories and his voice is still pure. The addition of his son Jaime and Ross Holmes makes for a great “front stage”. Jimmy Photoglo’s solid base and backing vocals coupled with Jimmie Fadden’s drumming, harmonica & singing and Bob Carpenter’s keyboards and vocals allow them to perform their old hits with new energy.

Dirt Band excellent tonight in Hot Springs, played nice long version of Ripplin Waters as expected, thru in half of Margaritaville, and played The Weight by The Band. 5 stars/thumbs up. Sound was near perfect for a multipurpose venue, kudos to system crew.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was AWESOME! The first time I met them was at Fan Fair in Nashville many years ago. Nice guys, and I so enjoyed the show last night!! Beautiful place, The Gillioiz, and can't wait for the next show.

These guys put on a great concert. They are each very accomplished musicians, and together they rock the house with great music and good energy. Definitely a “must see” if they are in your area.

This was our first time seeing them live and unfortunately it will be our last. I came to hear them sing their hits instead they sang gospel, cover songs, and had several guitar solos. They sang 3 of their hits. Will not be attending them again.

This venue is a real asset to our city and I'm pleased they are making a real effort to bring quality entertainment to central Illinois. Love being able to see some great bands without having to make a trip out of town. A+ for seating, security and concessions. Keep up the good work!

Wonderful concert. They played flawlessly. Even if you are not into that kind of music, the way they played each instrument and the way the music all came together was amazing. Such power in the music alone. The musicians got into each song like they still enjoyed playing and haven't played the same songs over and over. You felt the power of each song with the way they played. You could see they loved the music and loved playing each song. Well worth it.

I love this band. Over the decades they have remained consistently excellent in their songcraft, harmonies, and music. And that in and of itself is an amazing tribute to them as musicians. This kind of longevity is so rare these days. And with "Dirt does Dylan", they have added another layer of excellence to their history. This was again, an excellent show.

First time at this venue and all employees were so friendly and helpful. The Dirt Band put on the best show. I have been wanting to see this band for about 25 years and I was very impressed and just totally enjoyed them. Will look forward to more concerts at this venue. Thank you

These guys have been doing the best music (recorded and live) for over 50 years. Everyone should see their live show at least once. You will find that once is not enough. They put on, by far, the best concerts I have ever attended. They care about their fans too, that's another plus.

Another exceptional performance from this legendary band. I have seen nearly 40 live concerts by NGDB and these guys never disappoint. Amazing musicianship, a storied venue in the Ryman Auditorium and a full house of enthusiastic fans made a wonderful night. The show was recorded and will be shown on PBS in March.

I cannot count how many times I’ve seen the Nitty-Gritty Dirt band over my lifetime! I was kind of bummed out at first, knowing that John McEuen was no longer with the band. He was the original founder of the band, and I just did not think it was gonna be as good without him! I was so wrong. The concert last night at the Ryman Auditorium, on September 17, was one of the most fun occasions I have had in years. The band was so good, and I was so impressed. I had an absolute blast at the show, and the music was phenomenal! Jamie Hanna, Who is Jeff Hanna’s son, could not have been better. His talent as a musician and his singing was fantastic. I give this show 8 stars, out of five! And I apologize for not remembering his name, but the new fiddle, mandolin player was fantastic! Nat Coffin

I flew from California to Colorado Springs to see the nitty-gritty dirt band in Pueblo. It was a blast! The band is so so talented. And as a matter of fact, I plan to see them later in October right here in California. Each and everyone of the musicians are top notch, but I can’t say enough about that soft suede voice of Bob Carpenter. Love it.

We've gone to the Delores Dore Center for the Performing Arts a couple of times for Professor of Rock performances. This time the temperature was quite warm to being unpleasant. We drove to Pocatello(260 miles round trip) last year for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band so we thought we have to go see them in Park City(132 miles round trip)since it is half the drive. I am glad we saw them last year since this year I have to unfortunately say I was disappointed. They mixed up their sets a little, which is fine, so you do not see the same show verbatim, but they left out my favorite song, 'Dance Little Jean'. I was having a hard day and I told someone, it's ok, I am going to see the NGDB and hear' Dance Little Jean' and everything will be alright. The rest of the concert was good though, but with my song missing and the temperature I have to omit 2 stars.

This was a bucket list opportunity for me and it did not disappoint. The NGDB is an amazing mixture of accomplished musicians, song-writers and storytellers. Some of America's most underrated talents, despite their more than 50 years of accomplishments and awards. Simply put, these excellent performers are damn fine folks as well! Continued success to Jeff, Jimmy, Bob, Jim, Jamie and Ross. And if you have the chance, don't miss 'em!! My first time at this venue; very relaxed atmosphere with a pleasant and helpful staff. Quality all around!

The show was fantastic but I was very unhappy to discover that I had misunderstood the seating chart when I ordered my tickets which was the first day they went on sale for Pueblo Colorado. What I thought was second row tickets ended up being the second from back tickets. The very day that I bought my tickets I was so excited that I immediately booked my flight to Colorado from Sacramento, and for weeks I was so excited about being up close and personal with my favorite band. The show was good, the seats were lousy.

Next trip to St. Louis, I hope NGDB books an indoor venue. The weather here in St. Louis cannot be predicted more than a week or so in advance. We get two to three times the amount of rain we need. Too often an outdoor show will get rained out, so lets move it indoors somewhere! Thanks, Tim L.

Jeff, Jimmie, and Bobby did not disappoint! These 70+ year-old men brought 50+ years of Dirt to life. They also brought 3 younger members who rocked their instruments and added to the tight harmonies. It was a highly anticipated and much enjoyed evening.

I’m a life long fan, but, never saw them in concert. Simply Awesome!!! Thanks Guys!!! Especially great to hear them perform “Buy For Me The Rain.” I hope to see them again in the near future. -J. Morack Mount Carmel, PA
