Downchild Blues Band

Chuck wasn't there but the new singer did a good job. Very much enjoyed it! Donnie plays like he's 30 years old.

I have seen Downchild many times from Grossman's Tavern in 1969, Massey Hall, Regent Theatre, Knob Hill tavern and now the Stockey Centre and the band is HOT right now with the addition of Tyler on the piano and Chuck's temporary replacement lead singer (sorry l can't find his name anywhere). Tyler's infectious keyboard drive has excited everybody in the band and the sax has never been more soulful or the trumpet more sweet and the drums are pounding out the beat. Great bass guitar work and then Donny on guitar and harp made it an epic night. I have never heard them play better and the acoustics of the Stockey Centre loved their amazing blues. Adding Jeff Rogers as the opening act was great and he writes and plays and sings his own songs 👍very entertaining.

Outstanding evening of music in a beautiful hall. For a bunch of 70+ year old musicians they played and sang great. We are so happy to be in attendance for such an iconic band. Jeni Thai as an opening act was very good and the guests that played with Downchild made it a very fun night of good music.

It was nearly a full house . An usher seeing me with my friend who is blind called to us asking if we would like to sit on the first floor and be closer. (Jason...Justin?)So we got seats that he had reserved but was unable to use. This was lovely. The entire audience were septegenarians like us. The sound was fabulous, magnificent, powerful, warm and rich. The music of course was soulful. It could not have been better. The hall itself is the best...a circle with the stage being nearly circular the band can get closer to the audience. What a wonderful experience

Everything about the show was great!

Too short. Never got in the pocket completely. But some great musicians and Chuck’s voice is getting some great tough edges. But they need to work a little harder and longer than last night. Felt too much like it was pinching a ticket.

Great concert! Jeni Thai opened then joined Downchild for a song. She was great! Kenny Blues Boss Wayne was also great! Then Dan Lenois! Got to meet Chuck before the show, couldn't been nicer! And the Massey Hall staff are also wonderful! Spectacularly good night!

Legendary, because they've earned it! Great show. Donnie and Chuck both playing harp at same time was awesome. Nice theatre, too, very good staff.

Had a blast! Miss Emily, the opening act was in perfect voice. What about those legs! Donnie and the boys gave us a show that was outstanding. Old and new members played and sang to a full house that was swaying and tapping along with the beat. My group of friends couldn't help ourselves from singing and bopping along with the boys on the stage. Way to go Mr. Downchild - we love you!

Great show by Downchild at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre...unfortunately two of the mainstay members are no longer with the band but the new players kicked in like they'd been there forever. When Downchild hits the stage they give it everything they've got every time and this was no exception....the Blues was alive on Vancouver Island...hope they return soon.

EXCELLENT!! The reason they are still drawing crowds after all this time is because they are all so darn TALENTED! Wish they would come to Ottawa!!

Wonderful evening with Canadian Blues Royalty -- Everyone had a fantastic time Donny, Chuck and the boys nailed it. New keyboard player was spot on. Miss Emily a delight. Just the night out I needed :)
