Absolutely fantastic!! What an evening? !!! Extraordinary musicians and songwriters putting their finest effort on display for us on stage at the Weinberg center!! It was a night to be remembered always, and will live in my memory as an incredible evening of spectacular musicianship. At the beginning of the show, KT said, "So, if you've had a bad day today and have come anyway, we hope to lift that burden and bring you some joy." Some joy? These two phenomenal women gave my spirit wings!! Thank you for sharing your gifts!! ✌🏼

Great night! Great show! Seeing these two play live together again was such a lovely experience. They played a few hits (“Steady On” and “Sunny Came Home” for Shawn, “Passionate Kisses” and “I Feel Lucky” for Chapin), a few covers (Steve Earle’s “Someday,” Merle Haggard’s “That’s the Way Love Goes,” a tongue-in-cheek take on The Backstreet Boys’ “I Want it That Way”), and even led the crowd in a sing-along of their favorite “guilty pleasure” songs (“Mandy,” “Daydream Believer”). So fun. These two are such longtime friends, they just go together like chocolate and peanut butter. Perfection!

How do two beloved artists share a concert stage. I was envisioning an opening act followed by another (main?) act. None of that here... Instead, they came to sing / play music together as two friends sharing their renditions of other artists songs (End of Innocence by Don Henley and Bruce Hornsby, Catch the Wind by Donovan, etc.) and interspersing many of their individually created songs. In most cases they performed together either with both on guitar or with one providing harmony or backing vocals: what an absolute musical pleasure. I was particularly drawn into Shotgun Down the Avalanche which is one of my long-term favorites of Shawn Colvin. Here I heard two excellent musicians sharing their best in guitar and voice. I had never seen Mary Chapin Carpenter play in unison with Shawn Colvin and was frankly blown away with her prowess. Note: I love Shawn Colvin's guitar playing and consider her one of the best! Finally, I own all the albums / CDs by each artist and through hours of listening and now watching via YouTube I consider them to be friends/ fellow travelers. Keep on writing, playing, and singing. You are both great.

1st and foremost I love Shawn Colin. She sings my song. She plays my heart. Being there in person was absolutely no disappointment. Shawn's guitar playing is unique and as wonderful as you could ever imagine, and her songs to me are such a special gift to the world. LOVE YOU SHAWN!! She sang several songs together with Mary Chapin Carpenter, so I felt that my time to hear HER sing HER songs was a little short. She and Mary Chapin Carpenter walked on state at 8:10 and walked off for the last time at 9:50. for 2 stars performing, and story telling and guitar tuning, it was a little short. Also, they do a lot of other people's songs. which I didn't mind, but if you want to hear their songs... it was a little short. I was second row isle seat. On the curtain call the 2 women in front of me and I asked for Diamond in the rough. Mary asked Shawn "do you want to play it?" and she answered "No". Although.... there obviously was time. It was just a no. She didn't want to. I had tickets to see her on the steady on tour and I would have gotten to hear all of her.... but it was cancelled due to COVID. So, sigh... maybe I will get a chance to see Shawn Colvin, play her songs some day in the future. I love her. I will be waiting!!!

Shawn Colvin was playing solo, just the woman and her guitar and towards the end a piano. She shared anecdotes from her long career, which were enjoyable to hear, and her singing and playing were fantastic. amazing singer-songwriter. Would love to see her again. Union Chapel was a beautiful venue with great acoustics, but tight and uncomfortable seating for a tall man like me.

Honestly it was a bit disappointing but mostly due to the weather - the crowd was way more enthusiastic than the performer -- but only a few songs were sung ... Mother nature ...

Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn and Sarah Jarosz were a fantastic memorable trio! Together they created a musical experience at the Charlottesville Paramount unlike any other. Folk rock with angelic notes that brought out a deep blues zest with a fun soulful vibe that reached into the audiences hearts and left us all feeling so grateful for having been a part of it. When Marc had us sing on cue and follow his lead, it felt so very comfortable and we were all honored to jump in! Shawn, Marc and Sarah all told interesting tidbits about the origins of some of their songs and of their relationships with David Crosby. It felt like Crosby was there in spirit, the California Folk Legend using his lasso to rope the trio into a concert tour that will leave you feeling so close to the musicians you will feel heart sick walking home, just as if you had said goodbye to loved ones at a family reunion. Nicely done Cros! Bravo!

Great show. I wasn't expecting them to take turns singing songs, introducing each one with a bit of exposition as to what the song means to them or what inspired them to write it. And their performances of covers as a trio was an extra-special treat. Revolution Hall, as always, is just a magical place to hear live music. An intimate venue with great acoustics, wonderful staff, convenient parking, and a place to get a drink and bite to eat without paying an arm and a leg.

My wife and I enjoyed the Show. It was great to listen to the most amazing voice I had heard in a long time. Sarah Jarosz was amazing. I will be watching her in the future. Marc was great! His live rendition of Walking in Memphis was great. Shawn was still fun to listen to, with all the quips. This was a good show for the Grand Theater. I hope it wasn’t Shawn that got Covid. I know she would’ve been great -she has been every time I’ve seen her the last 35 years. Please bring the Steady On anniversary to Wolftrap! ❤️

Lovely and personable in her Q&A, solid singer/songwriter vibe playing her revisitation of Steady On with a few surprises thrown in. The Outpost is actually a (former?)church complete with stained glass and pews. Neat venue for a concert. Homey yet open. A perfect place for delving into the past and soul searches.

Shawn is the awesomest of all awesomes! Fantastic show! Opening act Pat Byrne was good as well. The Kessler is a fantastic place for an acoustic concert. I’m so glad we were there.

The show was wonderful, from the opener Pat Bryant to Ms.Colvin herself. She shared many stories about how she evolved as a songwriting, creating her first album "Stead On" in the process. She had the audience at the first guitar rifs. I have to say that the sound was a bit loud, for an acoustic show. I am not sure why the sound folks seems to want to play everything extra loud in a small venue (it also happens in the larger venues, I've noticed). It's pretty bad when I have to carry ear plugs to everything. It was a wonderful birthday present.

As always, Shawn Colvin was amazing. Playing solo on that stage, just she and her guitar(s) is a lesson in how powerful music can be in its purest form. And it doesn't hurt that she's a master songwriter and performer and I'd die to play a guitar the way she does. (And I've tried.) At one point she said she was a little rusty from downtime during the pandemic, but honestly, she was just pure gold.

It was great! Brandon Whyde, the opener was an excellent musician and performer. Then, Shawn did a great job carrying the stage as a one-person band. Her musical style is impeccable and her voice is ideal for telling such personal stories in her lyrics.

It was great to hear the album front to back. The fact it was just Shawn and her guitar and live gave it a different dimension. I had not really intensely listened to the album in a while and I've enjoyed it playing again and again in my head this past week.

Shawn Colvin & MC2 back in the ‘birth for two solid hours of AWESOME! The only thing that could be better would have been a short break & 3 hour show. Both ladies have such an extensive set list option it was hard to see the show end. Pittsburgh loves them both & we have fun interacting with them. Can’t wait to see them again soon!!

Amazing performance. The warm up band, Larry Campbell andTeresa Williams was a very pleasant surprise. You know it’s a great concert when you can’t stop listening to the artists work for days after the concert. Turner Hall frequently has standing only concerts but we were lucky and they had seats.

The. Venue is the best hands down for sound quality and esthetics. Nothing come close. I fe seen Shawn Colvin in concert probably 10 times since the late ‘80’s. I’m a fan girl. Great show.

If you were there to Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin perform their greatest hits with full band, this was not for you. But if you wanted an intimate hangout with two premier songwriters who invited you into their living room for girls night, it was a blast. Lots of chatting about songwriting, friendship, and the challenges of getting older. I very much enjoyed the intimacy. I can play the albums at home.
