Jethro Tull

Unfortuntely Ian's voice is gone. He doesn't hit the notes anymore and should have someone else sing and focus on his flutes and all the other instruments he can play. Great musicians in the band and great sound. To many new songs for my taste that are not on the level of older compositions such as Music From The Wood or Thick As A Brick. hannes von chAos

Run of the mill gig .. as you would expect highly polished set syncing with films on back screen. Setlist missing sone absolute JT classics ie songs of thexwood and minstrel in the gallery.

Disappointed they did very few songs from their early and best period ie first 4 albums. Musicians were excellent though. Shame only Ian Anderson is original.

It was wonderfull to see Tull again. We enjoyed a very eclectic evening. A collection of lesser known songs off each decade that albums were released Starting with on of their first hits in 1968 and including a couple of tunes off their latest. Album releaseed in the last few months. Songs were more of more of a folk base with alternate versions of better known early hits. my only issue was with the sound. At times the bands instruments drowned out Ians softly sung lyrics and always outstanding flute playing. As a whole a fantastic evening, listening to some great music played by a wonderful group of very talanted artists who obviously enjoyed preforming together.

Ignore the tag - we saw Tull at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY on 11/2. It's a hard show to review, thus the three stars despite the fact that we did enjoy it. The band sounded great - the players were all excellent, Ian Anderson's flute is as good as ever, and the mix was spot-on. The first "complaint" is that they went deep, and I mean deep, into obscure tracks. Some I knew and enjoyed (they opened the show with With You There To Help Me and ended the first of two sets with Bouree), but some I'd never heard before. That said, I did enjoy almost all the unknown-to-me songs. If they had played just a couple more recognizable songs (and not necessarily hits - anything off Songs from The Wood or one of the deeper cuts off Aqualung) I'd have been happier. The second complaint, and I knew to expect it, was Anderson's present-day singing style. Just SO over-affected - even more than I recall from seeing Tull 3x in the 90s, it was a distraction from the superb playing. I leaned into my brother at one point and mentioned that if the entire show was instrumental I'd have enjoyed it more. Still, I enjoyed the show. I won't see them again, but I am happy I got to see them one more time.

Disappointed that Ian would pull a Milli Vanilli. Yep! Sounds from the record were played during the live show. Farm on the Freeway included the flutee bits. I'll be posting my crude YT vids later today. I went in knowing that Ian has been phoning this tour in, but I had to go. Am I disappointed? Not really. The guy is 72yo. We're lucky he's still standing. The Decades Retirement Money Grab Tour! All kidding aside. Internet killed the music industry. Touring is the only way to make real money atm. I enjoyed just being there.

Dubbed quite a bit. idk if it's JT or the venue, but recording on cell was very difficult. I can understand if Ian doesn't want recordings out there. This tour is a money grab for retirement. Many instances of recorded tracks making it into a live show? I would understand if something is just to difficult to play live, like, cough, vocals 🤣 If you have never seen JT, I recommend going anyway. I would pound a few drinks though. The venue was very good. The set list could have been much better. He played most of their new stuff. Nothing from Songs from the Woods. I have been a fan since the 70’s. I did not recognize most of their songs. Only two songs for the encore from Aqualung. Nothing special. It took an hour to get out of Downtown. It was if the police were on strike.

One magnificent and fantastic show that brought the house down especially when they played LOCOMOTIVE BREATH and Aqualung. Ian’s mastery of his instrument ( FLUTE ) was truly superb. The only downside of it all is that security was so tight, there were lots of them trying to catch individuals who were taking photos and especially filming it. I was able to get away with it with AQUALUNG, a short version but memorable. More power to your group Ian Anderson and to your band Jethro Tull. Hoping you can come back here in the desert sometime soon.

Finally, about 40 years late, I finally managed to see Ian Anderson live. A great showman and a one-legged demon on the flute. He inspired me to take up the flute as a kid, and to hear him making so much of the instrument was astonishing. Damn, how is that possible?! Voice not quite so great these days but an excellent band more than made up for that. Thanks for extending that 50th anniversary tour into a 51st year - one less item on the bucket list! - Doug

Epic Ian Anderson is a god at flute and his voice is not as good but that is ok considering how old he is and how good of a stage presence he has. A passion play was amazing and the highlight of the show by far. Some of the background images/videos were kind of cringy but entertaining if you can find the humor in it. Don’t miss if you’re a prog fan and haven’t seen Ian Anderson before. If you have seen Ian Anderson before you’re not missing anything if you pass this by.

So blown away by how incredibly great this band sounds after all these years. See them before they are gone. Especially loved the locomotive song really moved me with the videos.

Quel contraste avec la pure beauté musicale de King Crimson et de ses fabuleux musiciens, dont le batteur Gavin Harrison, vu quelques jours avant, et ce très moyen, pour être gentil à l’égard de ces chansons superbes du Tull, concert donné par de très moyens musiciens (batteur atroce notamment). Jethro Tull a donné un excellent concert, émaillé de vidéos d'archives . Deux regrets pourtant, l'entracte qui ne se justifie pas dans un concert rock et casse l'ambiance Et le rappel, un seul titre

Musique efficace mais pas la meilleure setlist non plus. Il aurait mieux valu qu'un autre chanteur vienne en renfort. Ian Anderson a la patate, le talent et les instruments... Mais plus la voix. Pour les 50 ans du groupe, j'aurai préféré plus de folie.

What a great venue...The State (capacity 2100) was completely sold out ,and Ian didn't disappoint...Past members introduced the songs on a video screen behind the band...(the one negative for me, the hanging speakers partially obstructed my view of the screen) ... Ian's voice isn't what it was but at 73 I thought he did fine...Wish that Martin was still around but....the concert and venue get a solid 4 1/2 out of 5 go see its!!! thanks Jethro Tull...hope to see you next year!!!

I haven’t seen a concert this great in years! The band was fantastic and Ian never sounded better! I saw them back in 1973 and his flute playing is just as beautiful now as it was then!❤️❤️❤️

Ian's flute is better than ever! Great selection of all the classics. His voice, sadly, has given in to time, and the vocals weren't up to par. Given he's pushing 70, though, a very good show

A lot of pre recorded parts took away some, and Ian Anderson's voice continues to get rougher. But for the most part, it rocked and I enjoyed it greatly. Worth the price of admission for sure.

the photo was during intermission. the concert was fantastic and would I attend again....Yes, in a second. the artist was as great as ever and it was held in the perfect venue. Warm and embracing as Tull show was always meant to be.
