About Fushia

Fushia began as a bunch of schoolboys entertaining audiences with their energetic and fun-filled live shows. Lately, this bunch of overly-energetic young lads have developed a sound which has been described as “Simple. Fun. Totally rocking.” (Dom Alessio, Triple J). This sound, combined with their ever-impressive and always fun live show have been winning them fans across Australia. Fushia's debut EP earned the band their first taste of attention, gaining them a big win in the National Youth Week song writing competition, two Q-song nominations plus support slots alongside Hey Geronimo, Faker, Guineafowl, Jonathan Boulet, The Medics, Numbers Radio, The Scare, Skinny Jean and more. “Armed with remarkable stage presence and even better, honest, no bull-shit music, these Brisbane kids are bound for big things.” - Jessie Hunt, Drum Media After months of touring and perfecting their live show, Fushia recorded 'Nocturnal' with producer, Jeff Lovejoy. Jeff was able to capture the sound that was true to their high-energy live shows and larrikin personalities. The single earned them a spotlight slot on Triple J Unearthed, radio play on the station and another win in the 2011 National Youth Week song-writing competition. With an exciting and stunningly polished sound, the new six-track E.P ‘Open Invite’ from the boys was released March 2012. In its first week of being released it received ‘Release of The Week’ from Rave magazine alongside many exciting reviews from 4zzz and online blogs. “It’s hard not to enjoy a record like Open Invite, but what makes it even better is the sense that Fushia themselves are having the most fun.” - Stephen Rae, Rave Magazine (Indie release of the week March 12, 2012) “This is an immense pop gem. Very big stuff.” - Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J “It dissolves any of the rock's potential for self-important ludicrousness, gets the party started and doesn't let it stop.” - Chris Cobcroft, 4ZZZ We are not a colour or a flower, we are a band from Brisbane and we like music and fun combined for the sake of good.
