B.B. King

I love the king but he was better the last time he was at the AVA, too short a set... given him credit tho he's still out there doin it at how old?! :-)

He did not sing a whole lot. He played a lot of guitar solos though. Loved every minute of the show! Had never seen him live before. Truly a once in a lifetime memory. You can tell by his actions and the way he played, the music is his heart and soul. For a man of his age, he can still jam and wail on that guitar! !!!

The man is amazing, a legend. I wish the show went a bit longer though...

The local newspaper panned the performance and granted, I would have preferred more guitar and more singing from B.B. himself. But his band was crackerjack, his patter charming, and his rapport with the audience was warm and genuine. I wouldn't have missed this opportunity to see him.

It was great getting to see him, but due to his advanced age he actually performed very little.

AweSome to see a legend and the king off the blues but also sad. I felt bad for his band that couldn't seem to be on Que with bb. there was too much banter between him and the band and not enough playing and singing. but he is 88. and he is bb. I will cherish the night we had seeing him as we were in the very front row.

1st time I saw Mr King was in Anchorage, Alaska in 1966. The show was in WEST ANCHORAGE HIGH SCHOOL"S LITTLE THEATER. A venue of maybe 100/125 seats. He was magnificent and he has only gotten better over the last 50 yrs. God has blessed us. Went to the concert in Anchorage with Denise Brown. Still love you De De

BB and the band were great. The venue was great. I probably would have enjoyed it more had I been able to see--I was upstairs and had a great spot, standing right behind one of the two-seater tables...perfect view...until some guy (possibly the nephew of the two seated people) decided to STAND right in my line of view...totally oblivious, even AFTER I told him he was blocking my view ENTIRELY (too add insult to injury, he spent the whole time texting and facebooking). It would have been nice if maybe security would have been more cognizant of that sort of thing (the standing in a sitting area, not the texting)...like they do at Workplay.

Amazing! Truly a talented and unforgetable artist!

Even at 88 yrs old he is still king of the blues.voice is as strong as ever ! Truly enjoyed the show !!!
