The Mayberry Riot

Minnesota, the agricultural state with a theater of seasons, has grown a new modern rock group, The Mayberry Riot.

To feel the power, soul, and young passion that is lead vocalist Sierra Day, one could listen to Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks, or Lzzy Hale. Sierra’s presence is felt from the very first note all the way to the last. The four guys backing Sierra’s soaring voice also showcase a blend of sounds. Influences of Tool, U2, Deftones, and Pearl Jam can be heard among the dynamic, driving, ambient sounds of guitar duo Clark “The Wolf” Baker and Jason Froehlke. Now if John Paul Jones Paul McCartney, Tina Weymouth, and John Entwistle were all playing bass for Alice In Chains at the same time, you might begin to understand all that is bassist Mark Hedlund. Mark’s musicianship is like a loose bull on a mid-western dairy farm.

With the debut EP “SHANASKA”, featuring the single “Pull Me In”, the group has been touring the mid-west, sharing the stage with acts Royal Bliss, Bobaflex, Candlebox, Taproot, Sevendust, and many more. The Mayberry Riot aims to ramp up their touring in 2016, while releasing a new EP late summer.
