Northern Lines

I Northern Lines si formano a Roma nel Gennaio 2013, dall’unione delle forze di Stefano Silvestri (basso), Cristiano “Chris” Schirò (batteria) e Alberto Lo Bascio (chitarra). Il progetto nasce come una liberazione musicale, una sorta di paradiso sonoro in cui ognuno dei tre musicisti può esprimersi senza barriere di genere. Ciò che ne consegue è che i brani del trio saltano (a volte letteralmente) da un’ascesa metal cavalcata ad un rilassato momento bossanova, da una progressione classic rock a un ¾ dal sapore barocco. Alberto Lo Bascio e Cristiano Schirò si conoscono nel 2007, suonando nel gruppo dei Wonderful Tragedy, insieme al cantante Matteo Plini, con il quale suoneranno per anni, registrando due demo amatoriali e suonando nel primo EP professionale della carriera solista di quest’ultimo. Nel frattempo Cristiano offre il suo batterismo alla causa del cantante dei Kaledon, Marco Palazzi, per il suo progetto solista dei Marco Palazzi & The Fools. Nel 2011 anche Stefano, con sulle spalle 3 anni di seria formazione musicale alla Roma Rock School e svariate esperienze in gruppi quali gli Istant e i One Inch Punch, entra in questa formazione, e i due registrano l’EP “Sights of Iceland” di Palazzi. Il primo EP dei Northern Lines, umoristicamente intitolato “Hari Pee Hate” viene registrato in tre sessioni dritte, rapide e precise, tra Febbraio e Marzo 2013, e i pezzi sono disponibili su YouTube, oltre ad essere venduti fisicamente durante i live della band. A Gennaio del 2014 entrano ai Boris Music di Genzano sotto la guida artistica di Stefano Nuccetelli, per incidere il loro primo disco Farts From S.E.T.I. Code il quale esce ufficialmente il 12 di Aprile su tutti le piattaforme online. Eng: Northern Lines are a roman rock-fusion trio formed in January of 2013. They are: Stefano Silvestri on bass, Cristiano Schirò on drums and Alberto Lo Bascio on guitar. The project takes the form of a musical liberation for the members, tired of the mainstream routine of “the singer takes it all”. Following this mentality, the band is free to create music without any genre-imposed barrier, with songs that goes from classic rock, to waltzer inspired themes and funky grooves. Alberto Lo Bascio and Cristiano Schirò get to know each other back in 2007, playing in a pop-rock project, while Stefano Silvestri is introduced to his future fellow members in 2011, playing with drummer Cristiano in a rock-metal group. Their first EP, “Hari Pee Hate” (roman slang for “get it together”), was recorded in three quick sessions between February and March 2013. In January of 2014 the trio records their first LP, “Farts from S.E.T.I. Code”, with the help of sound engineer Stefano Nuccetelli.
