JJ GREY and MOFRO

These guys did amazing 👏. It was SO cold. I can't imagine trying to play an instrument with frozen fingers. JJ's teeth started chattering towards the end and the cold air started effecting his voice, they cut out a song because of it. But overall...this was an amazing show!

Amazing concert! Loved the warmup act, Cedric Burnsides, and of course JJ Grey ... loved the full band with horns and background singers. The venue was also awesome, my first time there.

JJ Grey and Mofro never disappoint... this is the 3rd time I have seen them perform live and as it is always an incredible experience.

It was 1 of the best shows I've seen in years. They were on FIRE!! The chemistry with the band was amazing. They played almost 2.5 hours.

JJ Grey is so sexy he could melt the paint off the walls and his voice melts the hearts of everyone who listens. He was in fine form for the show at the House of Blues last night. I’m glad I had seats because I just melted back into mine and let his smooth voice just work its magic on me. My oh my!

Great night.- Never miss a Sunday show rings true again. His voice was magical and the song “rooster” from his new album, was perfect. Thanks for bringing it JJ Grey and Mofro.✌️

JJ Grey and Mofro definitely didn’t disappoint. An absolute pure musician and song writer that plays from the heart. He loves playing for the audience and encourages them and the stories of the songs priceless. And absolute honor to watch a musician play from the heart.

It was amazing, he is an amazing entertainer. He engages the crowd and had a great voice. The band is top notch as well. I wished he would have sang "The River"

Great performance by JJ! The venue was not so great. Poor attitudes from Beech Mtn. Employees. Very rude as well. My husband and myself will NEVER patron Beech Mtn. again.

He did not disappoint. She’s on fire and Mississippi my favorites. Bought a shirt but I didn’t get his signature or pic. Wah! Scored the other artist. When u coming back to the New Orleans area? Love the horns. U put on quite a performance.

Fun venue. Great crowd. Sound struggles to be loud enough directly in front of the stage. Food and drinks lines can be long, unless you are in the VIP area. VIP is worth it. Parking was not an issue. But still a great place to see a show.

Nothing bad to say except inflation has put this experience out of reach of most people. JJ Grey and his band are top notch professional. Robinson brothers left everything on the stage class act alm around all night except what the federal reserve has done to our currantcy

Wow! So much better than I could have ever expected from an artist who is at the end of a tour! 10/10 would agree they threw down like some FL mofos

This was the first time I have been to the Weinberg Theatre as well as the first time seeing JJ Grey and Mofro live. Both were an enlightening experience. The venue was cozy, historical and the acoustics were out of this world. Not used to sitting in a chair for a show like this, but recognize the patrons were certainly aware of those around them and everyone seemed to get a long great. Getting in was a bit tight, but once everyone settled in it was perfect. Drinks were not overpriced (although you need to buy a cup to drink out of) and the staff at the theatre was pleasant and helpful. I am now a JJ Grey and Mofro fan for life. They played a perfect set and had a perfect mix of their library to offer to the crowd. Tight play and wonderful harmonic vocals, they are truly something else. Can't wait for the next one.

If I could give this place and show 10 stars I would. It was an amazing night with tons of love for JJ and the band. Many people were seeing them live for the first time, but they were fans who were screaming the lyrics and dancing their butts off. I highly recommend this venue for a fun time. Even people in the GA section were all standing and grooving! I hope they play here again as I would go back in a heartbeat.

The show itself was amazing. Beautiful theater with great sound. The venue and season ticket holders sitting in the front half of the theater were very boring. Hardly a head nod. Many left quite early. Those of us who wanted to dance and get down to JJ Grey moved to the side of the theater so we could groove. Great place for those who lile a seated and more laid back show. Just not my preference so I will not go back to this venue.

Saturday night shows typically start late, end later, and this was no exception. JJ Grey and Mofro didn't start playing until 10:30pm, so I was a bit agitated and I suppose I am showing my age by wanting an earlier show. Opener Luther Dickinson was boffo, with a surprise appearance by Amy Helm. It was just Luther and a drummer, who also played the guitar while sitting at his drumkit. JJ Grey's voice is amazing, and he was in top form. I was surprised to see that guitarist Trube was not on stage, I later learned that he left Mofro to pursue his own band. The replacement was good, and I was surprised to see JJ play many guitar solos himself!There were a few extended jam sessions, which surprised me but it in no way disappointed me. His record tracks are short and sweet. I LOVED "Ho Cake", each band member took turns soloing. And wow! Just wow!The Capitol Theater is a great venue, all in all a wonderful Saturday night show!

J.J. and the boys killed it again last night. I've seen a lot of shows and this show was definitely one of the best I have ever seen.

I don't even know where to begin with this review. This man is a true raw talent. He is so full of passion for life and music you can feel it when he sings. God has given him a gift that he proves is not being wasted. I hope to see him again soon.

The best live band ever! I've been to over a dozen shows and I love every one and look forward to the next time I get the opportunity to see these talented musicians grace me with their music!! Simply said as perfect. This is a picture of Andrew Trube throwing it down on the slide.
