Alexis Hightower

With musical influences that include Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morisette and Roberta Flack, Alexis Hightower brings Modern Soul to the 21st Century. Alexis started playing piano at the age of six and made the journey to NYC to develop her musical sound. Her first few years in NYC were spent hanging and playing with the best jazz, R&B artists and rising poets of the day. With roots in the avant garde Brooklyn poetry scene, Alexis has appeared onstage with artists like Roy Hargrove, Saul Williams and has even sat in jam sessions with Wynton Marsalis and The Chronicle to name few. Alexis has toured in both the US and overseas with her six-piece band. She has appeared onstage in Spain, Austria, Japan and Brasil, to name a few. Her debut EP, "Lucy's Blues," shows off her blend of modern soul and live, acoustic performance. Alexis' new album is due in September 2013.
