Dive

There appears to be at least six different bands called Dive:

Started in 1990, Dive (1) is the solo project of Belgian EBM pioneer and former Klinik and Absolute Body Control frontman Dirk Ivens. Continuing the minimal, menacing electronics of early Klinik releases, but with a heavier, more saturated edge, Dive's distinct sound has been a highly influential presence in the EBM and electro-industrial scene. Sister project Sonar is an equally respected rhythmic noise project in the vein of Esplendor Geométrico, while the pre-Klinik electropunk project Absolute Body Control was recently reformed with long-time friend and brother-in-law Eric Van Wonterghem of Insekt and Monolith.


Dive (2) was a swedish soft electronic group, active during the late 80s and early 90s. The members Chris Lancelot (alias krister linder) and Erik Holmberg produced three albums, Where The River Turns To Sea (1990), Stills (1992) and Dive (1994)

Dive (3) is a Japanese band that seem to make mainly layered rock, reminiscent of early Sonic Youth, but have included more electronic, even dub-like elements in some of their tracks.

Dive (4) from Finland is nowadays known as The Orders, as they say "Music you can dance to and cry".

Dive (5) is a czech emo/metalcore band formed about year 2000, when „adidasmetal” band Straighthate became DIVE.About two years later DIVE found their own style of music, entitled that as tripcore and got a present-day composition:

Doc - bass,
Stepi - drums

2006 was full of work on their long play album “Songs to be afraid of” at their own expense.
One of their greatest success are festivals TRUTNOV 03, FIMU 05 (Fr.), support of Waltari, Artery, Jolly Joker & P.B.U. and 3rd place on RockFest Dobris.

Dive (6) was an early 90's hardcore band out of Boston. They released two 7 inch records, a split with Opposition, a demo, a couple of songs for compilations, plus a discography cd. Members went on to Bound, Hatchet Face, get high and Dropkick Murphys.
