New songs sound great

Loved this. Listened to the Beta Band years ago but hadn’t heard much newer music. Sounded great- venue perfect for a singer and keyboard player. He even dealt well with the woman who treated the gaps between songs as a Q and A Session. Great night!

Support Pictish Trail set up the evening beautifully with a combination of strong musical set and irreverent banter. First time hearing them and kind of sad about this but, hey, now I know. Steve Mason came on to a rapturous welcome in his old stomping ground and proceeded to work his way through a set of new songs from About The Light interspersed with others from his solo pantheon. A brilliant, personal set from a true music legend. Fat Sams venue should be mentioned, too. A set up that is as good as any of the smaller venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Absolutely awesome!! Cracking friendly venue and Steve engaged with the 140 strong crowd... great humour and very intimate. Nothing got was any trouble afterwards with signing, photos and chat. Just sorry I can’t make any other gigs on this promo tour but can’t wait til the Autumn! Bring it on
