About Hellberg

HELLBERG was merely two years old when he performed in front of his family for the first time – and after that, the Stockholm-native kid put on shows for anyone he saw fit. Already at a very young age, he had been introduced to the world of music production through his dad, who worked as a DJ and occasionally produced tracks. After watching someone work with FL Studio on the Internet, he got the software and started making his own beats at the age of 13. Mind you, this was before the music production community became huge on YouTube, so there weren’t a lot of tutorials teaching the ins and outs of producing tracks. For the first years, HELLBERG had to mostly learn the craft by himself before eventually entering a music-oriented high school at 16. In 2011, while still in high school, he scored his first release on the Canadian label Monstercat. Inspired by other Swedish artists such as Avicii, Alesso, and Swedish House Mafia, his focus shifted from hip-hop and R&B to EDM. His continuous releases via Monstercat steadily broadened his fan base, and after graduating from high school he was able to make a living making music.
A few years, plenty of EDM tracks, and 100 million streams later, HELLBERG decided that he was ready to evolve and take his music in a different direction. Having always been a fan of pop music, he was curious to explore his production talents in the pop realm, while at the same time staying true to his passion for dance music. Impressed by his production skills, artistry and work ethics, publishing company Sony/ATV signed HELLBERG in late 2016. Over the course of the following 12 months, HELLBERG took part in countless songwriting sessions and developed his sound and songwriting skills further. His expanding musical catalog soon garnered attention from several major labels and in early 2018, Daniel Lieberberg, Head of Europe for Sony Music, spotted HELLBERG’s outstanding potential and offered him a contract. HELLBERG’s first major single “Hey Mama” was released on Sony Music/ Columbia Germany, followed by “Headlights”, featuring UK superstar Leona Lewis, only a few months later. The song was accompanied by an action-packed music video directed by Frank Borin (Little Mix, The Chainsmokers, 5 Seconds of Summer, The Vamps). The images were shot in the Californian desert and starred HELLBERG, who turned out to be a natural in front of the camera.
HELLBERG is one of Sony Europe’s highest priorities, and with his brand-new track material as well as an amazing record label team, 2019 is clearly destined to become a huge year for him.
