Born to the WestCoast in Arizona,
ROCSTAR discovered his love of music and discovered his voice in the dirty south rapping over Master P tape cassette instrumentals when he moved to Georgia around age 7.
Having a single parent meant that ROCSTAR had to fend for himself at an early age. Between living off and on with his Grandmother, who is his heart and inspiration, and coming up on the streets West South Central LA, ROCSTAR developed a warrior’s spirit that is an unmistakable characteristic of his music.
The streets of West Blvd and Adams became ROCSTAR’s family. It was at Crenshaw High where ROCSTAR met his best friend and accomplice, Tiny Kay Kay. ROCSTAR’s passion for music and loyalty to family doesn’t go unnoticed. Since age 11 ROCSTAR has been recording tracks in the studio.
In 2005 ROCSTAR headed back to Arizona to capitalize on the growing rap scene. ROCSTAR’s work ethic is second to none. If he isn’t in the studio (ROCSTAR has over 100 songs) then he is performing (has done more than 50 shows).He has 8 mixtapes featured on datpiff.com and livemixtapes,including the popular series “Trappin & Rappin” volume 1 and 2 which was released between 2014-2015 burning up the streets and Internet.
ROCSTAR blends his LA upbringing with influences from Kurupt, CJ Mac, his God Brother Monk McNasty, JAY-Z and 2pac. His West Coast ties include affiliations with Nipsey Hussle,Mozzy,,Glasses Malone,Roscoe(Kurupt​’​s brother) and Bay Area rappers Beeda Weed and Philthy Rich,just to name a few.Along with his Phoenix connection means ROCSTAR is constantly working with new artists and producing fresh tracks to create that Southwest Sound.
ROCSTAR is commonly asked how old he is not just because of the ferocity of his voice but because his knowledge of life. Being wise beyond his years does come with a price. On January 29t​ h​, 2008 his best friend Ronald “Tiny Kay Kay” Boone Jr. was shot after the LAPD mistakenly shot him thinking he had a gun when he was unarmed. Once again ROCSTAR’s warrior spirit drives him to overcome and persevere like the survivor he is,to make that powerful music that grasp ears.
ROCSTAR is currently registered with the United States Trademark and Patten Office. He is a ASCAP member as a writer and publisher. Not only is he lyrical, he is creative as far as hooks and harmonizing , he doesn’t consider it singing. He reads beats like its brail. We are talking about a young inner city youth, now transitioning into a man taking control of his music and treating it as art,but get this he doesn’t write his raps! “all off the top” as he would say. From witty lyrics and catchy hooks even funny adlibs that your sure to rememeber. Rocstar is a force to be reckoned with and can hang with the best of them in the booth. His work ethic speaks for itself and so does the music.
