About Dommin

Dommin is a music recording artist from Los Angeles, California. The enigmatic songwriter initially garnered notoriety as the vocalist and guitarist of the goth-rock quartet of the same name when they released their major label debut album Love Is Gone on Roadrunner Records in 2010. The music is described as the voice of the broken-hearted with a sonic mixture of rock guitars, hard-hitting drums and a heavy keyboard element featuring dramatic strings and epic choirs. The band toured North America, Western Europe and Australia supporting bands like HIM, Lacuna Coil, The Birthday Massacre, Blackveilbrides, 69 Eyes, Volbeat and performing at international festivals like Download (UK), Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park (DE) and Soundwave (AU).

Dommin released follow-up albums Rise in 2015 and Beautiful Crutch in 2016. Following the departure of keyboardist Konstantine X and bassist Billy James in 2017, Dommin released 5 singles between 2018 and 2020. Drummer Cameron Morris departed the project in 2023 leaving Dommin as a solo effort with the 4th album slated to be released in 2024. With songs like Beautiful As A Stranger, Clearly and Upside Down, the themes range from the tongue-in-cheek to deep reflections about the self and the world.

REVIEWS

“Beautiful Crutch is an album full of memorable hooks (“Show Me,” “Madly”); tenebrous, Gothic sonancy; and sanguine lyrics that speak of relationships, love, and finding one’s place in this crazy world. It is a classic oxymoron: the happy Goth. Considering that Dommin are a band that are beyond impossible to categorize, this extreme contrariety should come as no surprise. The beauty of the band is their unwillingness to box themselves into any particular genre and Beautiful Crutch continues this tradition. For this reason and so very many more, CrypticRock gives Dommin’s Beautiful Crutch 5 out of 5 stars.” (CrypticRock.Com)

“I’m sure that, after Beautiful Crutch, the realm of meaningful and passionate music created by Dommin will only get stronger, giving even more stamina and inspiration for the band to keep writing all those love rockin’ songs, keeping the hearts of their fans warm even during the coldest nights of winter.” (The Headbanging Moose)

“Dommin have delivered an endearingly dark and dramatic endeavour here that provokes a lot of thought and contemplation as it unfolds. Its proficient fusion of forceful vocals and impactful music is sure seduce a diverse audience.” (PureMzine.Com)

“But what makes these songs ultimately so entertaining is that they are so well crafted and massive.” (MaximumVolumeMusic.Com)

“Rise is glorious goth-tinged hard rock romp, which stands out like a glorious gem among the dusty debris of this summer’s album releases.” (PowerPlay) 9 power points!

“Rise seriously ups the ante, a stronger sense of individuality still employing the same influences to offer up a sound showing more maturity, more live long in the memory moments and more resistance to being removed from your play-list rotation.” (Fireworks)

“Dommin is a band that defies classification.” (hitthepitblog.com)

“He writes about personal experiences with the same intensity and passion with which he interprets them. His voice gives the songs another dimension; stentorian, yet full of pain.” (musicomh.com)

“Along with talented songwriting, drawn from deep emotions of lost love, Dommin has borrowed musical styles across the decades to create a unique sound.” (examiner.com)

“Love is Gone is a brilliant album.” (hegatewayonline.ca)

“In our modern musical world, many artists often imitate others. Dommin has done just the opposite. In Love Is Gone, the band has blended a variety of music styles and created a unique sound.” (thecontrapuntist.com)

“Dommin’s uncanny way of making alternative rock music that sounds like your heart veering near the edge of the world is long lost in today’s world of rock.” (frantikmag.com)
