About Mondayitis

Mondayitis plays a personal, honest, intense alternative style. The real sense prevails, and is far away from 'design rock’. Occasionally with a dark edge, yes, but just as often with a flirtatious motif. The members of Mondayitis are Mathieu de Meyer (vocals, guitar), Samuel Thomas Theys (guitar) and Simon Neels (bass, double bass). Although the three West Flemish musicians have been playing and composing together for quite a while, they decided to proceed with acoustic instruments following a session they played for the city of Bruges. The new, energetic set seemed to be quite popular with the audience and the musicians. Pasting one particular style on Mondayitis is not possible, and would do wrong to the music. In 2016, Mondayitis played in pubs, on festivals, in cultural centers ... So far, the group has released one EP, "Sliding", produced by Douwe Van Maele (Team William, Arquettes, The Tellers. ..). It was recorded before the electric guitars were thrown overboard. There are now plans for a second EP.
