About Lovehammers
Lovehammers are a Chicago based post-grunge band. Their lead singer is Marty Casey, who was a finalist on the television show Rock Star: INXS. Although Casey finished as the runner-up, he and his band, Lovehammers, were invited by Tim Farriss to be the opening act for INXS' 2006 World Tour.
Lovehammers were formed when Casey was 14, with friends Billy Sawilchik (guitarist), and brothers Bobby Kourelis (percussion) and Dino Kourelis (bassist). The band was originally called "Swinging Lovehammers" before changing their name simply to "Lovehammers" in 2000. For their self-titled major label debut (released January 24, 2006) they are known as "Marty Casey & Lovehammers."
They have just finished opening for INXS on the first leg of their 2006 world tour, and are continuing to write new material for their next album and play local gigs still in the Chicago area. They also have appeared live on Vh1 playing acoustic versions of Trees, The Tunnel, and The Riddle.
The release of their second DVD, "And The Rest Is History" features live performances, interviews, tours, etc., and is scheduled to be released December 2006, currently available for preorder at lovehammersdvd.net.
