The Black Tones

It's been seven years since The Black Tones released their critically acclaimed debut LP, Cobain & Cornbread, engineered by the legendary Jack Endino. What began as a three-piece blues-punk band born in their grandmother's basement in Seattle has grown into a five-piece unit, twin siblings Eva and Cedric Walker still at the center.

That debut album earned the band real recognition, landing at #17 on KEXP's Best Albums of 2019 list, a nod as one of The Seattle Times' 15 Most Influential Artists of the 2010's, and praise from NPR, which called The Black Tones a band "redefining Seattle music." Since then, the band has released a couple of limited-edition 7"s on Mike McCready's HockyTalkter Records, and a single on Sub Pop Records, alongside a run of self-released singles. They've toured across the U.S. and Canada, and in 2024 finally reached fans overseas with a UK tour. Along the way, they've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Death Cab for Cutie, Weezer, Mavis Staples, Fishbone and Tank and the Bangas, to name a few.

"In 2026, the band released a cover of 'Trouble Maker,' the Zamrock classic written by Chrisy 'Zebby' Tembo, featuring Death Valley Girls and marking the song's 50th anniversary. "The band's sophomore album, Diamond Ruby Night, is out this fall via their own imprint, Reptar Records.
