Born on the 17th January 1983, raised in Lisbon (Portugal) living now in Mexico City D.F. SANYASI is David Leal. DJ and Electronic Music Producer, the subject of Art drives his life. Graphic Designer as formation and full time job for now, Music is his full time passion! Dedicated Fan of listening, sometimes singing and writing. With a wide musical culture, finds his greatest musical references on 60’s and 70’s legends, The Doors and Pink Floyd and, the more contemporary, Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails and, Radiohead. Electronic music was always a constant too. Found the love of listening and dancing to it by the hands of Plastikman, Amon Tobin, Alva Noto, James Holden and Aphex Twin. Nowadays, labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Avian, 47, Prologue, Killekill, Perc Trax, Token, PoleGroup or CLR, are the up most references of his sonic pool and preferences. In the early 2000’s after finishing the Graphic Design course, leaded a project organizing parties and ephemeral events. Since that time, found in Electronic music a new way of living. Getting to know more and better, and building a strong will and determination to also become part of it’s world. On late 2012’s decided to start DJing and learn Production. SANYASI is intense, sometimes dark, hypnotic, tripy and groovy. “Story teller” and traveling lover. Finds in Techno his favorite expression but likes to go deeper and wider. “Electronica” is always a passion, Ambient and Chill are also part of his tools and likings, just like some pure Electro could be in the menu if desired. Played already in a large variety of portuguese local bars, clubs and parties, has had the privilege of having already shared the booth with great names such as Brian Sanhaji and Monoloc from Chris Liebing’s CLR and the local legend Steve Parker from OVUM or the german lady legend Cio D'Or.
