After a tour to UK in 2014 Sannie Fox returned to SA to finish work on her debut album which she released in 2015. This year following the SA summer festival circuit she went on tour to Sri Lanka and Dubai as a featured act on the US Crossroads Tour which included Tennessean Piedmont blues picker Michael Roach (US) and previous Ike and Tina Turner band member and songwriter Jimmy Thomas (US). She is currently writing new material for release. Artist and Album Reviews “…this album is an absolute powerhouse…her vocals [are] equally matched by her virtuosity on the guitar – a fairly rare find… The vocals and strings are clearly created in tandem and they weave and wander together beautifully...the album is crisp, polished and perfectly executed.” -Whatson magazine onSerpente Masjien "...each track stands out with singular purpose like the gadgets on a Swiss Army knife..." Texx and the City onSerpente Masjien “There are few great blues-rock bands in the world today, never mind any worth their salt that happen to be female fronted. That was until Sannie Fox dropped her debut solo album 'Serpente Masjien'. Freshly pressed and uploaded to the World Wide Web, the one-time Machineri lead singer, songwriter and vocalist's solo step-out has brought 13 tracks on CD plus three bonus cuts in the iTunes store and is guaranteed to shift perception.” - MB LIfe “...guitarist and singer-songwriter Sannie Fox’s performance had me hypnotised from the first note. Her slow, stripped-down blues and ethereal voice strike a deep, resonant chord.” — Mail & Guardian “Deep, bluesy, real, potent rock and roll for your soul and your ear-holes.” — Mahala “Fox’s voice is soulful, deep and grips the blues by its horns. Her ‘analogue-ish’, old vinyl sound can be compared to the likes of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald” — Tonight Music, Argus "...Sannie Fox has strayed off the beaten path and achieved greatness reserved for the artists of a bygone era...." - Texx and the City “Sannie Fox embodies all that is Venus, as she echoes all the classical themes of beauty, sexuality and love but with avant-garde edge [...] She commands attention as she confronts the gaze, guitar in hand […] reinforced by powerful drums and bass.” — SA Music Scene Sannie Fox can be described as “belting out the blues like she was born in a Louisiana swamp.” – The New Age “…singling out highlights on an album this consistently great seems redundant…” — Rolling Stone on machineri's album www.sanniefox.com
