Second Storey Window

Second Storey Window began on a Thursday. They formed with one purpose: to make music which is both audible and sonic in nature. Based in Sydney, Australia, the music they make would be best described as a kind of purply orange. When singer and guitarist Andrew wanted to bring some of his songs to life with a band he asked long time friend and drummer Matt Eaton to join the party. Matt was all like "Yeah, cool." With the addition of Reubs Barthow, Benj Gould, and Paul Roth,'The Fiends' was born. At their first show the band were introduced as 'The Finds' and though the gig went well, a name-change was the order of the day. After much circular discussion and absurd suggestions, the boys settled on the moniker 'Second Storey Window' and signed on Lachlan Stockbridge to replace Paul, who moved to Japan, thus coining the phrase 'to chuck-a-Paul'. Some say 'Second Storey Window' is a reference to the glass panel that was broken during a team bonding basketball game. Others theorise it is an existential metaphor which references the perpetual flux of culture underpinned by the constant of human nature. "It sounds like one of those names you see on the treet posters," offered band front-man Andrew when asked. "What's in a name though?" Countered guitarist Reuben, "A rose, by any other name, would be ustas pointy." SSW released their debut EP 'Minutes' in August 2011 and will soon be appearing at a venue near you. Relatively speaking that is, and assuming that you live on earth.
