Gianluca Gibbons

Gianluca Gibbons has been privileged enough to live in many different countries allowing him to become fluent in English, French and Spanish. Currenlty he is a Music Technology and Marketing double major at La Sierra University. He is studying saxophone performance in both classical and jazz while developing and fine-tuning his skills in recording engineering and sound creation, working with programs such as Logic Pro 9 and Protools. He is a member of La Sierra University's jazz combo, saxophone quartet, big band, wind ensemble, his own band HTG, he ministers at different churches and hosts an open mic night by the name of "SoundCheck". Gianluca's introduction to the music world began with his passion for the saxophone at the age of 8. He began playing music in school bands and in church. He was then encouraged to join the Bermuda National Youth Jazz Ensemble by his current saxophone instructor at the time, who was also the conductor. This gave him opportunities to travel to Jamaica, Jazz Camps in Canada and the National School of Arts in Havana, Cuba. He has also performed in parts of South Africa, Spain, United States and Bermuda. While in Valencia, Spain he had the privilege of recording on the album “Entusiasmo” of his former group “En Tus Manos” which is now available for purchase on iTunes, and also perform in Zaragoza in concert with recording artists from the Latino Contemporary Christian group “Forgiven”. In addition to his passion for music Gianluca has always had a love for writing poetry. Over the past couple of years he has combined this with writing rap lyrics and most recently songwriting. He appreciates all music and has a passion for music ministry. This has pushed him to learn every aspect of music possible. Though everyday he is learning something new he is eager to share all that he has learned with the world, with God guiding him every step of the way. Defined by his edgy tone, passion driven melodies and exquisite taste in fashion, Gianluca Gibbons pioneers a new sound in alternative music.
