About Fay Wildhagen
A few years back, Fay Wildhagen was visiting her friend and musician colleague Øystein Greni.
They strummed a bit and suddenly they were sitting there with what would turn out to be the
first sketch of Fay’s upcoming single “Reason”. Admittedly, the demo had a completely
different tempo and a completely different text, but after existing in the back of Fay’s musical
mind for seven years, it is now ready in its proper guise.
“I always knew that there was a song in that sketch, but that it had to have a power action that
couldn’t just be found or grabbed out of thin air. It had to have a meaning for it’s existence.
Seven years of living life helped and one day I woke up and thought - now I have it! This is
Reason ”.
After that, there was a lot of Facetime, email, voice recordings and phone calls before Wildhagen
and Greni were finally landed in Los Angeles at the same time in early 2023. There they shaped
the song together in the studio. “This is the first song I’ve written together with someone and It’s
been incredibly fun!”, reports Fay. With them in the studio were Bjørn Sæther, Tor Egil Kreken,
Markus Jägerstedt, Sondre Justad and Michael Hartung.
Fay´s critically acclaimed debut album Snow was released on Warner Music Norway in 2015. It
was nominated for Best New Artist at the Norwegian Grammy Awards, additionally she received
an Edvard-Prize– an award given to outstanding contemporary composers and songwriters by
TONO, the Norwegian copyright organization for composers.
In 2018 Borders also was nominated for two Norwegian Grammy Awards, as “Best Indie Artist”
and for the first time “Best Producer.” To date Border’s has streamed on Spotify over 4.2 million
with the stand out track When I Go streaming over 2.3 million. In 2019 Fay has exploded onto
the Norwegian festival scene performing on 12 of the key festivals including the renowned ØYA
Festival. Her performances have become beloved in Norway, speaking to audiences of all ages
and specifically reaching the hearts of many teenage girls inspiring them to follow their dreams.
REASON will be released on June 9. 2023 and will also be heard on Fay’s long awaited junior
album “Let’s keep it in the family” dropping in 2024.
