About Spitting Ibex

Who am I and what do I stand for? Spitting Ibex have stood rock solid behind themselves since their founding. Nevertheless, the band is not afraid to grab themselves by the horns. With their third album "E.G.O.", they have optimised themselves in a rockier direction, reflecting on what they have experienced over the last few years in order to bring it out into the world in a cloak of metaphors.

Over the past few years, there's been a lot to deal with. Spitting Ibex draws from a cocktail of emotions: Anger, understanding, sadness, love and above all hope. Songs like "Surface" and "Ego" give us a small but profound insight into the soul of the artists, whereas "The Heat Inside" and "Mamagodoh" show the band's socially critical thoughts. The disarmingly honest lyrics of singer Aunty, paired with powerful "larger than life" arrangements, allow a true insight into the innermost of the Viennese band.
Guitarist, songwriter and producer Florian Kittner (Silly Crystal) skilfully combines rock, funk and electronic to create a dystopian sound that you haven't heard from Spitting Ibex before. They have confronted their ego, broken the surface to show the wounds that make them what they are. Only the evolution of Capricorn reveals what else is hidden beneath the façade. More than ever, Spitting Ibex, is Spitting Ibex.
