About Demonoid

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to listen to a death metal project so intense that it lifts you off the floor and compellingly blows you away? DEMONOID, a fresh project to emerge from Swedish grounds delivers just that by liberating a profound aggression through a blistering assault of unrelenting guitar shredding, unimaginable technical drumming, and a brimming onslaught of guttural vocal insanity on the debut, Riders of The Apocalypse. DEMONOID originally began when brothers Kristian and Johan Niemann of epic metal band Therion arranged specific plans to create a death metal project. Due to diligent efforts consumed with their essential band, this withheld much of their time, resulting in the delay of the impending DEMONOID release. By the time Kristian had the chance to bring up the idea once more to work on DEMONOID, two well-known individuals were brought into the picture: Christofer Johnsson and Rickard Evensand. Despite the fact that DEMONOID is a recent band to hail from the revolutionary Swedish land, a majority of the members have in fact been involved in the metal underground for quite some time. Christofer Johnsson was actually the founding member of the complex and avant-garde metal band Therion in 1987, which have had previous members join bands like Dismember, Edge of Sanity, Necrophobic, and Sinergy. Kristian and Johan Niemann joined Therion in 1998 and have been in the band ever since. The remaining member of DEMONOID, Rickard, was formerly the drummer of one of the most well-respected bands playing the so-called Gothenburg metal style, Soilwork, and the self-proclaimed leaders of the "new wave of American heavy metal," Chimaira. Given the impression through highly influential acts of the thrash and death scene of the late ‘80s to the early ‘90s, the members of DEMONOID commenced exploring the more sinister and brutal atmospheres of metal. Influenced by these bands, Kristian impressively uncovers new guitar techniques, which he delivers in a melodic, yet arduous approach. Rickard astonishingly tears things up through his skillful, technical drumming, and Johan's intense bass lines give the material a rigorous and torrential feel. Amazingly, Christofer nostalgically re-awakens the past by incorporating the classic guttural vocals he possessed with early Therion, which he impressively delivers with full force on DEMONOID’s debut. The musical approach for DEMONOID is not to be unique or modern, rather to go back in time and strive for a fresh and challenging combination of veteran death and thrash metal influences, with some traces of black metal. The lyrical concept is created by Christofer, which specifies a story that is partly fantasy and partly based on theological and historical elements. The lyrics are very much opposing the Bible and the teachings of the Judeo-Christian religion, and view it as one of the biggest sources for the crimes of humanity. Most of the music is written and arranged in Therion's very own, Modern Art studio by Kristian, with minor help from Johan and Christofer. Once the finished product was completed and ready to present to the world, it was then entitled, Riders of The Apocalypse. DEMONOID is a prominent band with a malevolent, yet solid melodic sound that soon will embark on a worldwide invasion. For any headbanger who's into brutal and violent music, be prepared to receive a massive strike! Do not expect bombastic Therion-like material, but a true death metal massacre on Riders of The Apocalypse! With DEMONOID, the members have brought something exclusive from the past, and created a dark and menacing spot for the future! THE OFFICIAL PAGE!
