About EasyFriend
I was a singer/songwriter tired of barely staying above water in Los Angeles. So I bought a $150 RV, booked a 10 state solo tour and my dog and I set out on a grand adventure! Present day, I have been on the road for 150+ days, played over 30 shows and paid for the tour busking in every major city in the south.
I had no idea what I was really getting myself into. All I knew was Los Angeles was too expensive and living on the road full time would allow me to be a full time artist. I mean things are different. I feed myself with $25 a week and park on sketchy side streets but now I spend everyday moving my music forward.
Over the last 150 days I have played in front of every audience imaginable. Smokey Texas country bars with tough, expressionless cowboys to bustling college bars filled with very short attention spans, whatever the backdrop I found a way to reach my crowd. My show has become a dynamic journey built on crowd interaction which I probably pick up playing in the streets.
Most days for me I'm on a downtown street corner by 11am. I'll put in 4 hours singing at the top of my lungs. Then I'll take a break, count the earning and decide if I will need to do an evening shift. The whole time I'm smiling because, no matter what, I don't have to spend another minute working a job that has nothing to do with my future. Every minute I'm on the street I'm becoming a better artist, building new audiences and financing my career.
The decision to commit. To do whatever I takes to pursue my craft. Redefining my idea of comfort. Paul McCartney said "Before you play New York, London or Los Angeles you better have played everywhere else in the world first." I'm on my way. Currently being enchanted by New Orleans… Come Play.
