Flyin' Lion

Flyin' Lion is the brainchild of Brian Porter and Sarah Bartko. Sarah has many years of experience drumming for such Alaskan bands as Kill Tango and Fortis Era. Her creative beats and expressive approach adds much needed emotion to Flyin' Lion's sound. Brian Porter is a veteran song writer and musician. His avant garde approach with intricate melodies and demanding signature changes are the cornerstones of the music. Brian doesn't mess around with your typical guitar leads. The band started in the summer of 2011 in Austin Texas. They moved to Anchorage Alaska in the fall and met up with Brandon Ballin in the beginning of 2012. A self titled album was recorded in July 2012, but wasn't released until December of that year. Due to a long temporary hiatus, Brandon decided to pursue other projects(Shifter and MachineCorpse) and we wish him well. Flyin' Lion, with the original two members, will be relocating back to Austin in November of 2013. Sludgy math rock
