About Ayin

There are two bands with the name Ayin.

1) The first band with the name Ayin are an experimental rock quartet from Salt Lake City, UT, who have proven to have the ability to consistently reinvent them selves while still maintaining their trademark “Ayin” sound, combining electronic soundscapes with rhythmic rock compositions. Their new album “The Persistent Divide” is no exception as it hints a new found direction anchored with their rock sound.

2) The first Ayin was started in 1998 in Louisville, Ky, and around in present form since 2003, they have only recently started to get a fair amount of respect and generate a measurable amount of excitement. Ayin’s "nothing islands" (2004 Brightskull Records) is a debut full length of epic proportions, mixing elements of punk, hardcore, new wave, jazz, gothic, and classical music in a fearlessly adventurous way. Driven by Shellac-influenced bass heavy style, circus keyboards, sassy vocals that are vaguely reminiscent of Joy Division, and spastic, drastic musical shifts, nothing islands leaves the listener reeling the whole way through. In 2006 Ayin released their second full length "fear of tigers" on another Louisville label Shrodinger Records.
After seven years, three albums, hundreds of shows, and several tours, Ayin finally disbanded in 2007, though there is talk of a rebirth.

The band which consists of Bassist, Keyboardist, and Programmer Brad Verrier, Drummer Chris Hancock, Guitarist and Pianist Christopher Doucet, and Vocalist, Guitarist and Engineer Skaught Parry, have been working hard to provide their diverse group of listeners a taste of all of their influences which include Electronica, Film Music, 80's Pop, and Modern Rock.
