About Barley
"All Your Stories" is the debut album from Southern California's Barley Legal. Recorded in the span of a couple months in early 2010 at John Baffa's TV Tray Studios in Simi Valley, the album captures the feel and flavor of California's South Bay unlike any other recording. Barley Legal opted to go "old school" with their debut, recording most of the album live in the studio to analog tape, with very few overdubs. The result is an earthiness that reminds the listener of those old LP's from the 1970's. Compared to acts such as Tom Petty, Wilco, and the E Street Band, Barley Legal manages to come off sounding completely new and fresh, while reaching back a few years for its influence. The three singers share an uncanny knack for harmony, evoking the sound of the Everly Brothers or Simon & Garfunkel. The rest of the band is filled out by acoustic & electric guitars, keyboards, trumpet, saxophone, bass, and drums. And on a few songs, the boys are helped out by a string quartet. The album was produced by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Nate LaPointe, and was mastered By Evren Goknar at Capital Records in Hollywood. Feel Good Americana w/a Beach Country Vibe
