LaTresa & The Signal

LaTresa & The Signal have been playing together since 2004. The band is composed of 5 musicians with diverse musical backgrounds. LaTresa Smith (guitar, songwriter) grew up all over the South but moved North and out West as an adult, until returning to the South and settling in Nashville, TN in 2003. She was raised in a musical family with heavy influences from traditional country, bluegrass, and southern gospel genres, and has been performing and songwriting since she was nine years old. She released her first bluegrass CD in 2003 and formed the band shortly thereafter. Randy Smith (upright bass) is a University of Memphis music graduate with extensive experience playing jazz, blues and more from Beale Street to the Bluebird. Kyle Wood (mandolin) is a native of Nashville, one of the founding members of the popular bluegrass band Crucial Smith, a rock enthusiast, and an songwriter/artist in his own right. arkus Stadler (banjo) is originally from Munich, Germany. An original member of The Signal since 2004, he is not only an excellent instrumentalist but also a songwriter and accomplished sound engineer. Mike Testagrossa (dobro) grew up in New Hampshire and began playing guitar at age 9. He switched to dobro as a young man and never looked back. His musical influences stretch from bluegrass to classical. The five combine their extensive experiences and backgrounds to create a fresh and unique sound and have a great time making music together.
