About Zach Jones
The Days are behind us. They’ve left a trail of happy and sad reflections. The things we’ve done, the places we’ve been, the people we’ve loved, and all the lives we’ve touched. We lament the happy times with fondness and nostalgia. We breathe a sigh of relief at the passing of sad and scary moments. We use them as stepping-stones, tools to shape our future as we continue to move forward. The Days are ahead of us. We dream of the future they hold. We see blank canvasses full of possibilities. We do our best to envision beautiful works of art painted upon them. We look forward with both fear and excitement. We nervously anticipate the places we’ll go, the people we’ll meet, and the goals we will achieve. The Days are upon us. These are the moments of which we are truly in control. We take it one step at a time. We try our best to make the right decisions, to treat others with love and respect. We aim for happiness. We know that as soon as one moment has passed, another will present itself, and whatever happens is a direct result of our earlier actions. We carry on. We do our best to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. The Days is the fourth album from Zach Jones, an artist whose musical exploration knows no boundaries. To follow-up to Jones’s 2012, critically acclaimed, Motown inspired, soul/R&B album Things Were Better, it would have been easy to copy the same formula that made TWB so successful. Instead, with The Days, Jones has decided to move bravely in a new direction. Embracing a similar vintage production style as TWB, The Days explores new musical territory while echoing the vibe and style of the 1960’s and 70’s pop music that Jones loves and continues to be inspired by. With thoughtful lyrics, simple melodies, and skilled musicianship, the ten songs on The Days traverse the musical landscapes of classical, rock, pop, and soul. The Days is about transition and transformation. Jones draws from real life experiences to create characters, and anecdotes of love, life, happiness, and sadness. He taps into his own personal feelings to capture the plethora of emotions that accompany life’s frightening transitional phases. The Days are behind us, they are ahead of us, and they are upon us. Thank you for The Days. www.zachjonestunes.com Pop, rock, soul, R&B inspired by the glory days of Motown and The British Invasion.
