About Commander Kilroy

Commander Kilroy spontaneously combusted after a series of inspiring jam sessions. They are a power trio that looks to expand beyond convention. Focusing on their collective musical vision, they have created a sound of their own. The band released their debut album "We All Wear Masks" on December 20, 2013. The album features tracks that were written to tell a story of a superhero coming to terms with his humanness. The songs are written from various perspectives, including: the superhero, the superhero's wife and the supervillain. The compositions reflect each character, both lyrically and musically. Thus, the wife laments her superhero husband's depressed nature in the reggae-tinged "Shades of Blue". Whereas, "The Pounder" uses loud dynamics and distorted guitar to convey the supervillain's rage. Due to this unique approach, the album spans a variety of musical styles that captures and maintains the listener's attention. After their former drummer, Adam Widger, left the band, Commander Kilroy went on hiatus. The band reformed with Andrew Hanna on drums and performed their first gig with the new lineup on October 31, 2014. With the addition of a new drummer, Commander Kilroy has began incorporating more funk and groove into their power rock. The result is an even more infectious, danceable vibe. They released their 5 song EP "Howl at the Moon" on 12/12/15. In true DIY fashion, the EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band. Commander Kilroy returned to the studio early 2017 and releases their full length album "Sound the Alarm" on 6/10/17. Press: "The Lincoln trio Commander Kilroy set the tone for the night. Led by vocalist/bassist Casey Fink, Commander Kilroy looked as though it was playing in a friend’s basement. There was an unmistakable Sublime influence in everything the band did (down to the juxtaposition of lime green sunglasses and Mohawk). Having a guitarist as a capable of shredding as Dylan Fink never hurts, either." -Russell Lane of Hear Nebraska Commander Kilroy is a band from Lincoln, NE that specializes in their own brand of superhero rock. https://open.spotify.com/album/0ZqcmnzRjO4G2Tg0mubZhu
