About The Theorist
With an extensive amount of musical experience as a composer, pianist, producer and songwriter, The Theorist is a versatile musician whose artistry and musical style have grown to reach fans and stages across North America and parts of Europe.
The Theorist's musical career began at a very young age. He began studying classical piano at the age of five and performed in numerous festivals and productions. By the time he was 17, he took home many awards from competitions and had completed his ARCT. He continued his studies at McMaster University specializing in Music Education and Music Theory. Following this, he spent a year at Metalworks Institute where he completed his Audio Production/Engineering Diploma, taking courses in audio post production, electronics, sound design, song writing, and all aspects of Logic and Pro Tools.
The Theorist has composed music for short films and commercials, produced a volume of music for artists, and developed himself as an artist and virtuosic pianist. His influences come from great talents such as Frédéric Chopin, James Blake and Jamie xx, all who have similar sounds despite being centuries apart. This has allowed him to capture the emotions and melodic overtones and translate it back to his music.
His live performances on piano have taken him across the world. With a massive audience of over 140,000 subscribers and over 19 million YouTube views, The Theorist has built a strong and intimate fan base, as well, cosigns from Kendrick Lamar, Jessie Ware, and BANKS. He has toured as a solo artist and with PARTYNEXTDOOR playing at notable events such as the Wireless Festival in London, Drake’s OVO Festival and Drake's Fader Fort Showcase at SXSW. On the production side, he has collaborated with Grammy Award winning producers, Doc McKinney and Illangelo, and artists including PARTYNEXTDOOR, JMSN, and many other notable acts across different genres and style.
