Save Ferris

Awesome. Love Monique's energy, and joy on stage. And the band amplifies that. It was amazing getting to celebrate a fantastic album. Plus everything is always better with horns. Ska, ska, ska.

Mo ROCKS! So much energy from this band. They clearly love what they do & we thank them for keeping ska alive! Stage One is a small place which means there not a bad seat in the joint! Not that anyone sat… we all stood, so close that Mo came over & held our hands! Amazing show! I would go over & over again!

High energy and positivity the whole show. Played all the hits and ended with Come on Eileen, which oddly enough is their most popular song but is a cover. Not sure how Monique manages to maintain her singing voice and speak to the audience the entire show, but she did. Being her age (50) her voice sounds obviously older than when she was in her 20s, but this adds quite a bit of character and veterancy, legitimacy to the lyrics that her younger version of self perhaps had not yet earned. Her voice sounds great nonetheless and she is indefatigable ons stage. She is very opinionated and owns the stage. I estimate that all the other band members are new as they seem to rotate frequently based on videos I've seen of other shows, or perhaps there are different touring members than permanent members. She boasted many antics which added levity to the show and interacted with the audience to include nibbling on a fan's cheek, reaching out to touch hands with fans during one song (she looked at me and reached out but I was too intimidated to grab her hand), gave a glimpse of her underwear at one point ( a la Courtney Love style) and ended the show by flashing her fanny at everyone. I had never seen Save Ferris live before but now have it seared into memory. The opening act Adrian + Meredith have an unoriginal name, which is simply their real names but we're entertaining. They seem to be a mix between jazz, folk, bluegrass, with a tinge of gypsy vibes and reggae. To give you an idea they have an acoustic guitar, upright bass, drums, saxophone, and fiddle (or violin?). Interesting opener for a ska band, but it worked well for the audience which was mainly older crowd that seemingly grew up listening to Save Ferris during their formative years.

Well done!!! Packed house!! Best Garden Amp show yet. Mayor introduced the band and gave well deserved compliments. Impressive . Good job picking opening acts. Would have bought merchandise but line was always long.

Save Ferris was a phenomenal show, and the Shrine Social Club is a great venue. Plenty of dancing room and a great crowd. The band was super tight musically, and Monique is worth the price of admission all by herself. They are such a fun ska band to listen to. Definitely on my list of bands to see again, and a hint of new full-length album early next year. A great night of skanking and singing, pick it up, and bring on the next...

Venue was small but fun. With Save Ferris you have a real ship of theseus thing going on. Is it SF with just Monique left? Didn't feel like it to me. The opening band Gametime was pretty fun and I'd have liked to hear more of them. The second band Keep Flying was and odd hodge podge of ska/punk, numetal and rock. I am still unable to tell you if I like them. I'd say go see them just for the novelty of it. They were entertaining at least.

Great show! Was at the side edge of the stage. Monique came over and I took her hand in mine and kissed her hand! I'm sure it was as thrilling for her as it was for me! Third time seeing them..thoroughly enjoyed the show! Will go see them again.

I loved seeing you at Garden Amp! The entire show was fantastic, from Wondermelon to the closing number. All the special guests were amazing. I was so happy to see Scotty! The boys from Goldfinger crushed it. The highlight, though, was seeing Monique in that intimate venue. Mo, you rocked my socks when I discovered Save Ferris in 1995, and you haven't lost the vocals. You're gorgeous AND you have stellar pipes. This current lineup is phenomenal. I hope I get to see you all again soon.

Awesome show the band aged like fine wine Another band knocked off my list of ska bands I need to see. Monique Powell looks great and still has her powerful vocals!

Fun music fun people. Set was a mix of old and new tunes. All great! And the Dead Kennedys cover of Too Drunk To F**k was an awesome surprise and worked well with a brass section. 🤘😁

Reggie’s is a great venue. We brought our kids (8 and 12) to the show. There is a seating/standing area built into one of the side walls of the venue that allowed them to stand, dance, and watch the bands without getting in anybody’s way or having to navigate a crowd of much taller people. Save Ferris is just as good as they were when I saw them in the 90’s. This was easily my favorite show of the year. The opening bands were great also. Bumsy and the Moochers put on a great show with high energy and really good songs. We will all be looking forward to another opportunity to see them. Burn Rebuild and Blood People, while not the types of bands I usually listen to, were also fantastic and I would recommend seeing them both if you have the chance.

It was probably my 4th time in my life seeing Save Ferris, and I was transported right back to college! Dancing around, singing out the songs, I absolutely loved it. Monique Powell, you are a godsend! Love you so much!!

Save Ferris brought energy, but smaller crowd and we were all too old really to get going. Liked opening act. Devon Kay & the Successors.

The show was awesome. I’ve been wanting to see Save Ferris for year, the other two bands were also pretty good. However the vocals for the two opening bands were garbage. Disappointing.

This show rocked - my ears are still ringing! The Aquadolls were a super fun opener who I had never seen before. Save Ferris killed it, as usual. They were energetic and fun, and playing a great mix of songs. The Siren was an awesome venue for them!

I am in love - Monique is fantastic on screen, but even more fantastic in the flesh. Save Ferris were the highlight of the evening on a brilliant bill!
